@mkross123, the funny thing is that with DD, I thought I'd want a glass of wine as soon as she was born, but I don't think I had the desire for any alcohol until about 2 weeks PP. My husband was surprised but I think he understood that I was just focused on recovering, nursing, and getting sleep whenever I could. Alcohol wasn't even on my radar!
When I was 32/33 weeks pregnant with DD, we were at a cabin and some of our friends and my SIL were all talking about having a glass of wine once a week or so in their pregnancies, and by that time I had found my stance on the research I'd read. I thought about having a glass at the time, but when I took a sip, I had immediate acid reflex and heartburn that made it not worth it. It was a disappointment to say the least. I clearly survived and this time around I'm perfectly find with an ice cold O'Doul's Amber if I'm so inclined, but even with that, I have about half and I don't care for it any more!
@livenlove44 I didn't have deli meat or wine, I just felt sorry for mysef and maybe unreasonaby annoyed at my unborn child over both. I don't know if I coud have a full drink...I know in reality the later in pregnancy the less likely it is to do ANYTHING, but I also have a super guilty conscience so I am not sure I'd even enjoy it. I have become the pregnancy drink sip queen. I have sips of other people's wine and beer about three times a week, my mother now knows to hand me her glass when I arrive for Sunday dinner and I take one sip and let it sit in my mouth for a minute to remember the taste. Just a little pathetic ;-)
I went to lunch with my husband today and he ordered a Blue Moon. Of course I had to have a sip, and yes, it was just as good as I remembered!
