understanding the due date

Hi, my due date is July 30 2015. My last OB appointment my dr said he is measuring at July 20. Which is 10 days earlier than my due date, which my dr said they won't change. So, I am wondering since he is measuring '10 days ahead' does that mean I got pregnant sooner than I intialy thought?

No, the most accurate measurements are the first ultrasounds so what it means is that you're having a big baby. The due date should not be changed after the first trimester. My aunt is the one who does all my ultrasounds and she explained this to me today because I'm having some issues with my doctor, she wants me to have a c section almost a month before my due date because she says that we had the dates wrong, but my aunt says that that's not how it works.

Also, ultrasounds can be notoriously off in the third trimester. Like PP said, the first ultrasound is usually the most accurate. You might just be having a big boy.

What pp said. My date was set at July 31 because of the size at my first trimester ultrasound. At my second trimester ultrasound she was measuring 4 days behind, but they said this just meant she is a smaller baby.

I'm also due July 30th. The baby is measuring 2 weeks a head of time based on my last ultrasound.

With my son, 13 years ago, he measured 2 weeks bigger. I only had one ultrasound, I think that was also with the fundal measurements. They bumped me up a week during the third trimester. He was born ten days before the changed due date. Still a nice size of 8 lbs 2 ounces. My period date may have been off. This time one US was four days bigger but no change in due date.
