So, as most of you know I have been fighting my insurance company to get a breast pump. I found this website and filled out the request for them to see what my insurance would cover. It took 4 days and they just replied that my insurance will cover 100% of certain breast pumps and the majority of others. Luckily the one I wanted was covered 100% anyways, but I was so excited about this that I wanted to share it with you ladies. I hope it can help you out as much as it has helped me. Saved me $300!!!
Sooo--I went through Aeroflow and the options they offered me were not what I wanted (all manual) so I called my insurance and asked them what I do qualify for. My insurance said I could get the medela starter set for free. When I went through Target and Babies R Us...i was offered the one that insurance told me I could get for free.
So I think Aeroflow is good--but make sure you know what your insurance will provide! (I will be upgrading to a pricier Medela though!)

My insurance SUCKS! LOL! I've been fighting with them for over 3 months now on what they would cover and they kept telling me that they were not required to cover any because they were grandfathered in to the Affordability Care Act that requires insurance pay for a breastpump. Aeroflow got with my doc, who wrote me a script for one and now they are sending me one free of charge. All my fighting was fixed in 4 days by Aeroflow. (My doc had already written me a script for one and I tried going thru a medical supply store and basically would've paid $100 less)
I'm sorry they didn't help you out more!

Well dang! I was hoping they would help more people out like they helped me. I'm so sorry! Although, I have to say, I'm jealous of your insurances that cover them without a fight.

I used them as well! I just had to enter my address and my insurance info. It took minutes and the next day they told me what pumps I was eligible for. All I had to do was reply with the one I wanted and it was on my porch within days! Love the site, they were so fast and helpful.
I went to Target.com and typed in breast pump in the search box. And a link popped up to their service that deals with all the insurance and such. I called them, they told me and emailed me what to do, step by step, after they dealt with my insurance company. My insurance did cover a few basic models, and partially for more advanced ones and I could pay for the "difference" if I wanted. I didn't want to pay, so I registered for the extras they didn't cover, and asked around and found a few of the accessories that family and friends were done with (like bottles that fit, a tote bag, a cooler bag, and left over (unused of course!) milk storage bags.
So, try target.com's program, they were very helpful for me and may be helpful for you.
My Insurance is Boone-Chapman and does not cover breastpumps, parts or rentals since my policy is grandfathered in. I just bought my Medela breastpump in the backpack at target online for $218.00. The online price is cheaper than in-store!
I did this and also got mine covered. I had 7 different options to chose from and they are shipping it to my house for free! Thanks for this great resource. :):)
I wish they would let me get mine now... when I called my insurance they said I have to have my Dr write me a prescription for one. Which I guess really is nice since they're still covering it but I like to get things ready and know how it works and stuff before I actually have to use it.
I haven't asked her. But when I told her what my insurance said she told me it wouldn't be a problem, that she's had to do it before and that some insurances even have a specific paper they need or want the doctor to fill out. I think I need to call them again to see if there are any other things I need the doctor to do.
I have United Healthcare. They cover specific pumps through certain companies, but I can only order it 30 days before my due date. I am going to go through byramhealthcare.com and get the Medela in style advanced pump
I have blue cross blue shield of vt and they have a program called better beginnings for pregnant women. It covers me to get a breast pump of my choosing (I'm going with the medela) they sent me a voucher in the mail and I just need to bring it into the supply store and they will give me my pump! I can only get it a month or month and a half before my due date, and it is insured for 1 year from the date I pick it up. They told me to wait as long as possible to get it in case anything happens within that year so it will be covered. Also, this program will send a nurse to my house, or someone to do free housekeeping a couple times, plus it covers up to $175 in pregnancy classes. I probably won't use the nurse or housekeeper though. I am happy to have such a great insurance plan!
I went through McKesson Patient Care Solutions (which is a medical supply company) and I had no issues, no hiccups. It was fast and easy. Got my pump completely free.
Although I didn't qualify for the one that I wanted, I did qualify for a Medela my insurance covered 90% and Aeroflow waived the other 10%, and it should be here in 5 days. Excited!
This post was a lifesaver! All I did was fill out my insurance info and bam! 2 weeks later I have a free Medela breast pump. I really didn't think it would be that easy. One more thing I can cross off of my Before Baby to do list!
