High-Risk Pregnancy

Grand MULTIP

I have been put under consultant care for being high risk. The reason I am high risk because I just joined the very prestigious group of women in the "grand multip" category. You become part of this group when you are pregnant with baby number 6+ it turns out doctors do not recommend women having more than 5 children in the same way a vet wouldn't advise more than 5 litters for a dog. Does anyone know what the possible complications may be? It actually freaked me out a bit. I'm aged 29 (don't know if that makes a difference here) TIA ladies :)

Re: Grand MULTIP

  • The biggest problem that I know of is that the uterus may not contract down afterwards as well as it did in other pregnancies therefore there is an increase chance of a bleed. I know this pregnancy with me they want to put a something in my hand so they can get mess straight in if I have a bleed. But there are many woman all over the world who have multi births. We just blessed we live in an age that they are aware of the more common problems and can be proactive. (I'm 38 so mine is going to be more worn out than yours hahaha. Baby number 6 due tomorrow)
