Baby grabbing head and face

My baby is 2 1/2 months and hus hands wake him up. Im guessing hes trying to scratch face or head i dont know why he does that. Ive tried swaddling but he doesnt like it. He also has heat rash on his face im not sure if thats what wrong that it itches him... Any suggestions?

Try scratch mittens or the sleepers where the arms fold over to cover the hands. Are you sure that it's heat rash on his face and not just baby acne? My lo had little red bumps on his face at that age and the dr said it was acne.

I took him to doctor and he said it was heat rash... Im not sure it worries me its just from his neck up ive tried mittens it does work atleast hecwont scratch himself.

My baby did the same thing....I put mittens on him. He seemed to do it when he was tired.

My LO scratches her forehead and face a lot! I try to keep her hands covered and her nails trimmed!

My baby boy scratches his face too . He digs in his eyes and seems like he's pulling his own hair. It's mostly when he's sleepy or if he nursing vigorously . I didn't think about the mittens though . I thought they were useless after his newborn phase but I guess I'm gonna pull them out again .

Sometimes they do it while nursing because they don't know what to do with their hands. I wear a necklace of wooden beads covered in fabric for my baby to play with while nursing. It also keeps his mind on nursing and not looking around at everything.
