I was a regular on my old BMB and deleted my account in all the craziness. I was hesitant to come back for my new BMB but figured I'd just join in here and there. It's definitely different
As much as I love the snark, I actually kind of love seeing a big fat 0 in responses when someone repeat posts or just does something stupid. Almost sends a better message. We will ignore you until you figure it out or choose to leave.
What the actual hell is Blump? I read the words but I just can't even.
do a google image search for "5 weeks pregnant" amd scroll down : D
I googled it, it wasnt as bad as I thought! Well I am definitely bloated at 4 weeks, but I'm not trying to claim I'm showing yet! How many weeks would you not side eye someone who says they are showing? 12 weeks? 16?

I started legitimately showing (as in not bloat) at 14 weeks last time. I'm also short, so I know that's even on the early end. I have a friend who is 17 weeks right now and doesn't look in the least bit pregnant - not even bloated.
Thank G*d I'm not the only one who feels this way. Maybe my TTC journey was too long and I had time to read EVERYTHING, but good lord! I can't imagine going into anything as serious as bringing a child into the world and being so uneducated about it. Bring on the snark, ladies!
I couldn't agree more. I think a big part of it is that people hunt out ridiculous things to be offended by. Then herd mentality takes over and we are in rainbow land. I don't understand how some of the easily offended function out in the real world.
Thank god this post started I have been dying to be snarky especially the brag-tions!! Oh your so skinny your worried you won't show soon enough, well go stuff your face with burgers and come back in a month.
I was very active with my first which was S10...I've just came back and can't figure anything out. I thought i might see some familiar names but nothing. All I want is a damn ticker in my signature and I can;t for the life of me figure it out!
I'm hoping that after another month when the initial excitement has worn off that things will calm down a little bit. I still lurk over on the TTGP board every day because I miss those snarky, honest ladies. (
Also, I have zero tolerance for women posting on here who haven't gotten a BFP. [-X

I just joined here and I was surprised there didn't seem to be any snarky comments. I used to use baby center and there was always snark there.
As this will be my 5th baby...please feel free to answer me with snark if I happen to ask a question I should know the answer to. I also tend to lurk more and post less...
I'm all about sarcasm and I'm happy I have to think before I type it here (since my mouth usually says shit before I can stop myself). I'm for it as long as it's not mean spirited. I'm talking straight-up making fun of a new mom because she's nervous about something (happened in my last board/pregnancy, on a different site a lot). I also agree that it's going to take time for all of us to get comfortable with each other before we really get going (I'm testing the waters now). I just don't want to freak people out and push them away with my weirdness, yet.
Also.... This might just be me, but I can't stand the term "white knight" in forums. That's really when people get pissed and shit starts to hit the fan.
I like the idea of setting up a guidelines page. If bump admin made that sticky, we could let people know to search before posting and all the other ideas you guys have. Also, the acronyms. So many. Maybe one of you bump pros could set it up?

Me too. I lurk on TTGP daily. I also lurk ok baby names. I need reality in my life!
Speaking of snark, what the crap @ChelseyBels, way to steal my avatar. :P If I don't have my glasses on, I'm like, "wait...I didn't post that". Great Linda's think alike!
I was on the nest like almost a decade ago, and my first BMB was Feb 2012, and it was very very snarky then. I was surprised at how different the tone is here now!
About me: Daughter turns 4 in Feb 2016... second baby due in mid-Jan 2016!
Can I ask, is the Symptoms check-in *supposed* to be daily? Seems kind of like overkill. I was under the impression it was gonna be a weekly check-in since most of the posts are just the same ten symptoms anyways...

It will die down, hopefully. Then its weekly. Then it's posts about chipotle and then it's posts about peeing in your pants when you get kicked in the bladder.

Ohhhhh, I'm VERY excited about the "peeing my pants" portion of this pregnancy!
All my local BMB ladies have said the same exact thing how dull the bump is these days. I have to agree; I'm not that active and just lurking mostly but it's annoying to see all these questions clogging up the feed. But then I think that could of been me, wait no, i actually depended on other sources for information instead of asking stupid questions on here.
@Myelhsa the daily symptom threads were going on when I joined the board. I personally don't see a problem with having one daily. I think the goal is that it will cut down on the 1000 personal symptom threads a day. On the TTGP board we had two daily check-in threads.

Just keep swimming.
I agree that there are a ton of drive bys. I've been trying to gently suggest people read the threads right below the one they posted.
Hopefully we will get more established soon and less of this repetitive nonsense.
