Re: TWW post for 5/18

  • I'll be here soon.  IUI will be sometime this week.  I should know after my ultrasound this morning.  Ovaries have been in hyperdrive (achy, twinge-y, crampy) all weekend, so something's going on in there.  I had 4 promising follies on Friday (CD 8).  Fingers crossed! :)

  • I'm actually going join in the action this month. I had a near positive OPK last night and a definite positive this am, and we actually had sex last night. The stars and moon have aligned!!!!! For all you don't know, my husband has ED and a very low drive so sometimes (a lot) we don't have sex in my FW. I got my period on Mother's Day ( that's one of the days I'm guaranteed sex) so I told him this weekend was my rain check. I told him Friday or Saturday would be fine. Well I'm happy now that it didn't happen those days.
I know the positive OPK does not guarantee O but it's the first positive I have gotten in months. The last 6 months that my cycle has been wonky I havnt been able to catch a surge.
I'm going to try my hardest to get sex again tonight. Probably not going to happen but I will try.
FX that I actually ovulate today!!!!!

    I am a gardening addict.
I have one vegetable bed and 6 flower beds( but I put vegis and herbs in them too). I will plant anything I can get my hands on.
This year I have 6 varieties of tomatoes, 3 string beans, red and green peppers, white eggplant, cucumbers, edemame, snow peas and cabbage.
Annual flowers I stick with different varieties in the same color sceme. Purple, red, orange, yellow, magenta and chartruce.
I have a ton of perennials. I'm waiting to see if everything will comeback after our horrible winter. I do have about 30 peone blooms about to open. I'm very happy about that. They are one if my favorite flowers.

I have farming in my blood. My family has had a farm in upstate New York for a long time. Sadly it is no longer a working farm but they still have most of the land and have vegetable gardens for personal use, and chickens. I will be going up this summer and I can't wait.

  • I am probably somewhere between 5 and 7 dpo.  This entire cycle has been weird.  I have had pre af cramps off and on all cycle.  I am trying to wait until next Monday to test but I doubt I'll be able to.

I have tried to garden before but I'm just no good at it.  We rent and our current lease states that we are not allowed to have gardens or do any other yard work - the neighbor does all the mowing.  :)

  • Hey ladies!!

I'm either 7dpo or 9dpo. I still can't make much sense of my chart this cycle but I'm pretty sure I did O, although I've been wrong several times before. I'm actually going in for the progesterone blood test today and will have the results tomorrow. Fingers crossed I actually did O as we had really good timing (5 times in FW). As far as testing, I have the super cheap strips and have already used them yesterday and today. I wasn't expecting to see anything but just told myself I was "practicing" using them. I guess I just like to have something to do when I wake up besides just checking my temp :-)

I've always been too busy to garden and never had a good enough yard. We still don't own a house so maybe someday soon when we own house/land....

    Good luck everyone!!!

  • Im 3 DPO and think we had pretty good timing this month so Im hopeful. We were on vacation in Hawaii this last weekend and had lots of time to get busy so fingers crossed! I will probably test on the 29th, maybe a few days sooner.

I don't really garden, my husband has the green thumb. I kept mint in a planter but thats not really that hard because mint is basically a weed and pretty hard to kill ha ha ha.

I'm on CD 10, and I went to my RE for an ultrasound and to determine when I should schedule the IUI this week.  I have one big juicy follicle (her words), and my blood work shows that the LH surge is already starting!  So we're doing the IUI tomorrow morning.

Last cycle, I think I O'ed too early, the day before the IUI.  But that was CD 13.  I've never O'ed so soon-- in prior months, it was CD 16, then CD 15, than CD 14.  I guess I'm just getting shorter cycles, the more vitamins and medication I take?  I don't know.  I feel like this will be too early.  And I'm skipping the trigger shot entirely.

But I did just finish my second round of letrozole.  Maybe using it really has supercharged my ovaries.  Or, maybe they're scheduling me too soon for this.
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science

    7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)

  • I am either 10 or 12 dpo. Usually just wait for AF, but might test before this time (we will be starting our second ivf round on this next cycle so am anxious about upcoming planning and timing).

    good luck to everyone!

I do container gardening on our front porch. I plant herbs and lots of colorful flowers (varies by year).

  • Hi All-
I'm 4 dpo.  I don't have any symptoms (too early, I'd guess), though I read into everything.  We put in a good effort this month, though we could have been a little more proactive, in my opinion.  DH gets worn out by the on-demand sexy time (poor thing), and I get frustrated at having to be the task-master.  Ah well.  I'll test on day 30- I usually get some spotting before then if I'm going to get my period, so if there's nothing by day 30 it feels worthwhile allowing my hopes to get up.  My mood seems to shift after O-day.  The time leading up to O is such an optimistic time for me.  Then I get a little less hopeful and I enter the wait period- though we just had some bad news in my family, so that may be impacting me this month.  I'm doing my best to keep my hopes up.

@hooligans4, I'm completely envious of your gardening chops.  I have some pots of pansies and daisies on our front and back stoops, and I planted bulbs a few years ago, though those have passed by now.  Our yard has been a mess since we moved in, so we just got some help from a landscaper- setting up beds.  We have now have lilies, hydrangea, veronica, black-eyed susan, phlox, and lupines.  I love flowers and I'm finding being required to get outside to water everyday is very relaxing.  It's a little quiet time just for me.

    Good luck everyone!

In all my worrying over the timing of the IUI, I forgot to talk about gardening!

We've had fantastic success with straw bale gardening.  Last year, I had several cherry tomatoes that just went wild, producing tons of sweet tomatoes.  I planted some zucchini seedlings in the leftover straw this spring, and they are now HUGE!  I've also got some volunteer cherry tomatoes growing from the tomatoes I forgot to harvest last year, and a couple varieties of spinach, basil, peppers, eggplant, and rosemary.  Oh, and some lavender and French thyme are fighting it out by my mailbox (I can't really use the lavender or thyme, though, since I've discovered that ALL the neighborhood dogs stop to pee there).

Our philosophy is that the more veggies we grow in the front yard, the less grass we have to cut!

And the doctor assured me, multiple times today, that the timing for the IUI was right.  Okay, guess we'll find out! TWW starts today.

I just want to wish everyone GOOD LUCK!

And... I definitely don't garden.  I am a city girl, but since I recently moved to the suburbs it may be a good hobby to pick up.  I am a little afraid of bugs and have no experience in gardening so I probably won't start anytime soon-- haha!

  • Hi! This is my first time posting. I have been off BC for about a year, but this is the first month that we have purposely tried.
I got a + OPK on the 15th & 16th and had a good bit of ovulation pain from both sides. So I should be about 3 DPO
I have been tracking my periods for the entire time I've been off BC and the date of possible ovulation is about 2 days later than predicted by the calendar without charting or testing. I suspected that was the case last month because I got what seemed to be ovulation pain 2 days later than what was shown on the calendar.

I think we timed everything as well as we possibly could, so I am very hopeful! I have generally had a 25 day cycle, so my expected period is the 28th. I'm trying to not look too closely at symptoms because I always feel like I have symptoms! I'm really trying to just wait it out.

I have one container tomato plant. That sounds a little sad, but that's about all I can handle!

    Good luck everyone!!

    @jilligan14 Yay yay yay!

I'm hopeful that I really did ovulate yesterday.  My LH really did surge, and then my temperature shot up this morning, which I was very excited to see!

  • I don't chart or temp, but I am in my tww.  What do you girls do during this time to not go crazy?  I know it's too early to test, but the waiting is killing me.  I felt a little cramping or pain the past few days, but that stopped, and yesterday my boobs started to be sore.  I don't know if things took this month or it's me just being paranoid and making things up.  My dd is 6, so I wasn't aware of the timing and cycles last time, we were fortunate enough to just keep trying.  This time, however, I'm more educated about the possibilities and timing, that I feel like that's all I think about.

Glad to see everyone's pp and how excited you are all, fingers crossed for everyone!

QOTW- I do container garden, but just with flowers.  I back up to a park, so I know the wildlife is too close, so any vegetable gardening would go well eaten, just not by us!

I am 2 days post ovulation. Went to visit my RE to start the process again 2 days ago.
He did an ultrasound and told me I was ovulating and to have sex during the next two days. Hopefully it worked and we will be lucky. Waiting is the worst part. Fingers crossed for everyone here!

I love to garden. Waiting for next weekend to plant my herb garden and a few flower pots. It's so therapeutic!!
