I attempted with my first. I made it pretty far, but then I felt so hot the closer it got I couldn't breath. Which meant no breathing through the pain. It was December and I had the thermostat turned all the way down in my room. Nurses kept coming in saying how cold it was and asking if I wanted a heated blanket. I plan to work towards it again this time around. It works for sure. My SIL did it successfully with her last kid.
I would also love to hear more of this! I'm six weeks or so and hoping to try this as well a water birth. It is extremely encouraging to hear how other mothers are so strong and about their individual birth choices.
I am looking for a doula that has hypnobirthing training. We are moving to a new town so I have no idea who I will be going to. Definitely want to try it.
Hypnobirth is using hypnosis/ deep meditation techniques to relieve pain from labor. For many women it can help avoid the use of epidurals or other pain killers. Other women have made said it can help with other things as far as reducing post partum bleeding but I am doubtful of these claims
I LOVE hypnobabies. It got me through both my labors even though I was induced for pre e and on pitocin. The second I did epi free and the breathing/meditation techniques definitely made a huge difference.
I've used Hypnobabies for my births and it helps so much! I get random hormone related anxiety attacks and the hypno techniques helped keep my anxiety low even through the hormone swings of labor. Pretty awesome!
