We call him "Cheeto," because there was one week early on that I ate a lot of Cheetos, and my husband said "This baby is going to be 50% Cheeto" and the name stuck.
The very first ultrasound we had the baby looked like a little rubber duck.. We now know it's a boy and have a name picked out but we still always call him Duck
I've often wondered if anyone else does this but myself and a few friends: Do you have a nickname for your LO? Not a nickname for their official name...but a weird name that you've been calling the kiddo while you've been preggo.
We've been calling ours Blueberry since the beginning (I think I finally realized I was preggo when the app was saying LO was the size of a blueberry) and it's entirely possible that it will stick as a nickname :-) I'll pick up my stepkids from school after they've been with their mom for a few days and they'll ask "How's Blueberry today? How big is Blueberry now?"
I've also had friends name theirs Pumkin, Cletus the Fetus, and Bean.
Anyone else?
My first pregnancy we found out when she was a poppy seed. We called her poppy to the point we named her penelope for poppy would be an acceptable nickname except once she was born I HATED if someone called her poppy lol
We've been referring to our baby boy affectionately as Clyde. Lol! It's a silly story why. The won't be his real name. That's just what we're we calling him till he's born in September.
As we haven't been able to agree in a name SO and I just call him the baby or little man or baby boy. My mother however has taken to calling him Mustafa!...we were looking online at names and I found that one and absolutely found it ridiculous for a name but she thought it was super weird and awesome even though I would never name LO that. It reminds me of Mufasa from the lion king which I've always hated lol
Grandma forced us to call ours Peanut we used to say Bean but she said it didn't sound cute! So she just called the baby peanut until we gave in basically haha. Note that this will NOT happen with our parenting... Oooooohhhhh no
It usually depends on how I'm feeling that day - if I'm feeling good, it's the Nugget. On days when the stomach is bothering me, though...it may not be nice or maternal, but on those days, it's the Tummy Demon.
DH is calling her by her name, but we aren't sharing the name with anyone til she's born so I'm just waiting for.him to slip up haha but she has been nicknamed Cindy lou by everyone else because on her ultrasound she looks like she has a Who nose
We've been calling our guy either Lil Bubba or Falcor. Bubba because that's what I call my husband and Falcor because with both loooooove Neverending Story.
we have some friends that STILL call their baby "bean". He is 3 years old. This is probably better suited for a FFFC, but this offends me since I know that 'bean' is such a common nickname for unborn babies, chosen because it looks like a bean that early. I think I am mostly offended by the lack of creativity.
We've been calling our baby, monkey. Whenever we text about it at work like I'll tell my husband if it's kicking or wiggling we always use the monkey emojis
My husband came up with "muffin" just a few weeks ago. He used to call his baby brothers "fuzzy head" but knew he needed something different for his little girl. So... her nickname is muffin. When she wears blue she'll be our little blueberry muffin.. When she wears orange she'll be our little orange muffin. And when she poops she'll be our little crud muffin. Bahahaha!
We have three older ds's. One night back in November he told me, "Mommy, someday you should have a girl baby and we could call her Garlic." We chuckled at the time, but when we surprisingly showed up pregnant in January, it seemed appropriate to call the baby Garlic ... thinking maybe we could convince it to be a girl. It's a boy (we're thrilled!), but Garlic is pretty much stuck at this point.
My whole family was referring to her as Nugget... But since we've found out the sex and have decided on a name, that has changed. We're naming her Tatum, so she is now referred to as Tater, Tot, or Tater bug!
We call ours peanut. Or sometimes if I can remember what fruit he measures for the week I'll call him my little.... this week he's my little pomegranate...well at least for another day.
My husband and I have been calling our baby Tadpole since it was about the size of a tadpole when we found out. Even now that we know its a girl I still like calling her Tadpole
