While it's not my style, ultimately it's up to you and your husband. Just be certain your child will be OK with her name.

And do you watch the TV show "Bones"? The main character is Temperance Brennan aka Bones.

that is a tough name for a kid to have, kind of like Prudence or Patience or Chastity.

I do love the show Bones, and I think the nn Tempe is kinda cute. I just really think this is a tough name to "live up to"?

What about Honor or Hope? If you like these types of names...

I do not think it is a good idea to give a kid a name that is also a noun, at all.

What if she is a little hell-child? Where would temperance fit into all that?

If you like virtue names, my cousin named his kids Patience and Mercy. Temperance sounds fine, but its long and kind of looks like temperature.
