What's your pregnancy theme song?

My best friend growing up mentioned that I used to have theme songs for various moods during high school. I would sing one specific song all day and it would change depending on how I was feeling. She asked what my song since getting pregnant has been and I'd have to say....

The "strange things are happening to me" from Toy Story. Especially since third trimester time, it seems like my body is totally disconnected from the rest of me sometimes. It's beautiful and wonderful and everything, but it's also super scary to see horror movie bumps moving across my stomach.

What would your song be? Why?

  • I need to sit on this one for a while. Good question, my gears are turning!
  • Loading the player...
  • Immortals by fallout boys but that's probably because my 3 year old "watches" Aka listens to big hero 6, 3-5 times a day.
  • I'm obsessed with "Heartbeat Song" by Kelly Clarkson. I love that she used her daughter's heartbeat as inspiration for it!
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • "All about that bass" Meghan trainer. Except I sing "all about that bump". I always sing this when I'm getting ready in the morning. Or when I'm feeling particularly silly I'll dance and sing while trying to annoy my fiancé... He just says "well aren't you a sight" =))

In all seriousness someone typed out and framed that Garth brooks song "mom" that he sang on Ellen And framed it for us as a baby gift. :)

I don't know if it pertains to what I feel about being pregnant or not but I'd say the song I have been jamming all the time to is Gooey by Glass Animals. My taste in music changes literally by the minute and this little gem not only gets me moving but LO actually kicks when it's being played. Probably because I'm blaring it too loud in the car. (I'm sorry tiny baby ears that can actually hear!!!)

Also something about the beat reminds me of a snoop dog song but I just had a brain lapse and cannot remember the name!!

Edited: "drop it like its hot".... Oh geeze now that is stuck in my head. Nothing like snoop dog at 6:00am.
  • My Humps by the Black Eyes Peas! However, I change humps to bump when I sing it.

I actually woke up humming two classic rap songs and I think it's because baby is dropping a bit. The first is "Apple Bottom Jeans" purely for the part where it goes "Shorty got low low low low low low low lowwwwwwwww." The second is "Drop it like it's hot." I have no clue why today of all days since I haven't heard them in awhile but I'm just going to go with it haha.
  • This thread might be the best idea that I've had in a while. Y'all are hilarious.

Who Needs Sleep by the Bare Naked Ladies.
Who needs sleep? 'Cause you're never gonna get it.
Who needs sleep? Tell me what's that for?

Yep. I figure that will cover the first few months with a newborn, too!
  • @SammyK YESSSSSSS I love that song!! Especially the "hulla-hulla-hulla" in the middle of the song hahaha I have a feeling that will be my jam in a few weeks
  • I heard "Killing in the Name of" by Rage Against the Machine in the car today. I realized how pumped it makes me... and how lame it is on the radio when half the words are edited out. Rockin' out with baby!
  • I have to go with the song Fireball by Pitbull simply for the fact that the night I got pregnant I drink copious amounts of this liquor. Lol. I like to refer to baby as my Little Fireball
