After 9 months of having no idea what any type of contraction felt like, I've been having semi regular contractions since about the same time last night. Last night they were 3-6 min apart and I was so excited! But they weren't painful really so H and I tried to get some sleep. This morning they still weren't that painful but I called the hospital at about 7am. Since I could talk just fine through them they told me to stay home. Lost at least part of my mucus plug with a consistent light bloody show for most of the day. Contractions definitely got stronger by noon and have been at the same intensity or higher since then but they are now getting further apart and never consistent!!! Theyve been anywhere between 5 and 11 minutes apart. Im getting so tired of timing them. The doc I talked to was pretty firm about the 5-1-1 rule unless my water breaks or I'm bleeding more. The hospital is also 30-60 min away so i dont want to go unless we know its "go time." This is sooo frustrating!! I wanted to work up until I gave birth and this whole day has seemed like a waste. My 8 week mat leave is so precious and that's what upsetting me most now

Had so much trouble sleeping through them last night and I'm still getting them strongly today but not as bad as yesterday...now 48 hours later. This is rough. Good luck ladies.
Very frustrating, and I feel stupid because apparently it's false laborn again. I asked the nurse what I should do since I followed the 511 rule and she said " the best advice I can give is you'll just know when it's the real thing"..
Well...crap...I thought THIS time was the real thing. :-/
Then I had a doctors appointment on Monday which was when I was 41 weeks at 1:30 PM. She said that I was more dilated (about 3 1/2 cm) than my previous appointment. She massaged my cervix and I went home.
On the car ride home my contractions started to get stronger and closer together. I started to feel the contractions in my back. We came home and my husband did a few things around the house that we needed to do before we could go to the hospital. I timed my contractions and by the time they were five minutes apart we called labor and delivery.
They told me that I could come in but if I wasn't dilated enough I would be turned away. We decided that I needed to go in because I was in so much pain. On the car ride to the hospital I threw up from the pain. I got measured we were at the hospital and I was at 4 1/2 cm so I was admitted.
It was very exhausting to go through a few days of labor prior to active labor because of the lack of sleep. I'm just glad it's all over now. Even though I'm not getting as much sleep, at least I get to spend my time with my adorable newborn. In the end the pain was all worth it. Good luck to all you ladies who are still waiting!
