Pregnant after a Loss

pregnant after recurrent miscarriage ... praying this is my rainbow

Pregnant for the 5th time and I only have 1 living child. Battling Hyperemesis Gravadium on top of it. Trying to stay hydrated and nourished is a challenge. I am excited but terrified. I find myself constantly checking for blood, panic every time I feel a cramp and just general anxiety. Lord please let this baby stick!

I hear you ladies. Just had my 12 weeks scan after 3 losses last year and it's all looking good but I'm still struggling to get attached and believe this could be real

Right there with you pregnant after four losses, I'm 22 weeks with a little girl and time is going so slowly!!!
  • Thinking of you and having my baby send you some of her sticky baby dust! I finally found something that helps me, because "just relax and enjoy it" wasn't happening. If I actively plan, like designing my nursery or researching new products for my registry, then it distracts me from worrying and its a way for me to be positive about the pregnancy by preparing for her (for a while I didn't want to "jinx" it). At the end of the day, my aunt put it pretty well. We all have at least some form of P.T.S.D, it's normal to be scared. When I admit that I'm scared to my doctor, who's a high risk specialist, she tells me that's because we know how precious life is. I will say that if your doctor's not sympathetic, then find a new one. My doctor's nurse has let me run in between appointments to check on the baby. I was on my birth month board and it sounded crazy to the women on there, but sometimes you just need someone to humor you!
  • so glad to find a place I "fit". Pregnant now, #9.  I have 2 children from a previous marriage that are now 14 & 16.  My husband and I have lost 5, been thru ectopic, D&C's, infertility, IUI, drugs, you name it.  Finally told last year that we'd have to get a donor egg for IVF or adopt (of course after I spent like $5K trying IVF)  All of a sudden...pregnant.  Hoping and praying this is the one!!
  • I'm right there with you. Just got our BFP on Friday after a meltdown about our niece being born. I miscarried last June after 4 years of trying then again last Christmas. It was a devastating year and now I'm trying so hard to be excited that I had a positive test but I'm scared to death. Pleas lord let this baby stick! @beckym89 praying for you and sending sticky dust your way!

    Hi ladies,
I've had 4 losses (all around 5 or 6 weeks), always at the same point in pregnancy.

I have a healthy 2 year old, but I'm not ready to give up quite yet.

I've been reading through your posts and wish you all successful pregnancies!!!

I think I might be pregnant for the 5th time since my daughter, praying it's that....I'll test tonight.

What did you do differently in these pregnancies that made it a success? Any tips?

Praying for all of you!!! =))) Rainbow baby power to all!

I'm also new to this site, so don't mind the emoticon....no idea how it got there!!!
  • Just curious: do any of you lovely girls know what caused your losses previously? Did they find any known reason or are you among the "unknown?" I'm kind of in limbo of a multitude of things it COULD be that caused my 3 losses. Not pregnant now (that I know of), and we are actually taking a small break from actively trying. But just curious to hear what everyone else has experienced, knowing we are all different! :)

Also, positive baby vibes sent to all of us!!
  • Hi ladies. I'm having a really hard time being excited about this pregnancy. We have a 2 year old son but have endured 3 miscarriages. My first miscarriage was before my son but the last 2 were in November 2014 and march 2015. I'm 6 weeks today and I'm paranoid every time I go to the bathroom or have a cramp. I want this baby so bad but can't seem to shake this overwhelming sense of doom. Just wanted to know if this is a typical emotion after multiple losses.
  • Hi Ladies, this is my first post.  I have had 3 miscarriages, the 3rd was at 13wks.  I am looking for information because my husband and I are thinking of trying again but I am scared.  I went to my OB today for my yearly checkup and asked him a few questions.  I was shocked and confused by his answers.  After my 3 rd miscarriage he said we would need to do testing on both of us before trying again.  A little over a year has gone by ( not TTC in that time) and when I asked he today he said no testing needed?  Also said wasn't really anything we could do until I was pregnant.   I'm curious as to what your doctors did or advised for you after multiple losses?

I had 2 Mc previously, which my OB thinks may be due to low progesterone. It will go up initially, but then drops after a week or 2. I was put on oral progesterone this time, which I took for the first 13 weeks. I will be 24 weeks tomorrow.
  • I hate that we all have had to experience so much loss but thankful to have this board. This is my 6th pregnancy and I have only one living child. Praying this baby is my little miracle.
  • Reading this... I know I'm not alone. Just got my BFP this morning... Ecstatic and nervous all at the same time! After 2 miscarriages- the "newly pregnant" magic has been stripped from me.
  • @ash413, thank you! That gives me hope! My progesterone seems to be fine one week PO, but I'm wondering if maybe it kept dropping after a few weeks into the pregnancies. If only my OB (who I have since "fired,") got me in the third time I got pregnant like he promised he would, maybe things would be different for me right now. Next time I get pregnant, I am going to demand constant progesterone tests just to be safe in case that was the cause. Fingers crossed!
