Stung by a wasp!

i got stung yesterday, and today it is swollen and itchy. I feel ok, but I am worrying (probably unnecessarily!) have any of you ever been stung while pregnant? What did the doc say? My doc is not in the office today so I figured I'd wait to call since I don't think it's a serious matter...but I thought I'd check in with you guys to be sure!

Ouch!! I've never been stung while pregnant but do you usually get that red when bitten by a bug? That looks pretty red and swollen to me.

Id call the after hours number and ask their thoughts on being stung. It looks bad

I haven't been stung since I was a kid, so I really have nothing to compare to! But I generally do have really sensitive skin. I didn't really think much of it until today when that red patch showed up! It really just feels hot in that area and sore and itchy and is a bit swollen but I figured they'd just tell me to take some Benadryl or something, and I didn't want to go through a bunch of craziness for something minor.

Try Benadryl but if you feel a scratchy throat at ALL or so much as a cough..... you need to go in

Go see a doc. It sounds like you got cellulitis. I had it the last time I got stung and can be serious!

I called after hours hoping they'd just tell me to take some Benadryl and they told me to go in bc it might be cellulitis...I talked to the lady at the front desk and they aren't supposed to give advice but she was like just ice it and take some Benadryl and come back if it gets worse. So calling just made me more paranoid now and I wasn't about to spend all night at the ER if I can just wait till morning and go see my doc...the redness is the same but the swelling has gotten worse...so I'm icing and waiting for morning to go in! Thanks for your advice ladies.

Thanks you guys! Turns out my doc is out of the office all week and was told to go back to the ER...UGH! But it wasn't for nothing, turns out I have cellulitis so now I'm on keflex for the next ten days. All this over a silly wasp sting!
