Anyone else feel better on an empty stomach?

Morning sickness has finally hit me at 6 weeks, however I am finding the opposite to what everyone else says. It seems like when other people feel queesy they eat something and feel better, however for me I feel great up until I eat something then I just feel so nauseous. I am hungry all the time, but now I dread eating anything since I feel so bad after. Anyone else feeling this way?

Re: Anyone else feel better on an empty stomach?

  • I have a very particular middle ground.  If my stomach is totally empty - nausea.  If I eat until I'm full - nausea.

I really can only have very small meals (snacks?) very frequently.  Which makes me feel like I am eating ALL DAY, which is not helping with the feeling that I look like a whale already...

@MaMinette13 that's interesting, maybe I am eating to much, I think I will try eating a little less and see if that helps. Being hungry all the time doesn't help.
  • I've found that when I 'let myself go' and eat junk food, chips, chocolate, cookies, etc... I tend to feel more nauseous. I've tried really hard the last few days to eat lots of protein (grilled a lot of chicken and pack it in little containers to munch on... almonds... peanut butter apples) I haven't been as sick and actually feel pretty 'normal'.

  • The idea of food is nauseating, without actually feeling nauseous if that makes any sense. I am currently hungry and feel fine, but when I think about actually putting food in my mouth, even my craving, my stomach just kind of knots. The only reason I'm eating at all is because I'm pretty sure starving yourself while pregnant, or at all, is not a good idea. Seriously though, even water sounds awful.

  • I can be nauseous with both not eating and eating too much. I've found eating small amounts helps. Last pregnancy I had crackers on my bed stand which helped to eat right away when I woke up.
I've also found if I am drinking water and have gum or mints it helps. A dry mouth makes me gag!

I've been eating a high fat/mod protein/low carb diet for a while (about 2 years) before my BFP. I haven't changed my diet in any way since and have not felt hungry or experienced morning sickness. No idea if it's because of my diet or if those symptoms are just yet to kick in... I'm only 5w2d today. Oh yes -- I drink a lot of water too.
  • 5 weeks and so nauseous, I wasn't like this for my first two so not used to this! Random things make me feel better and unfortunately its all junk food, i.e. Popeyes mashed potatoes, b&j ice cream...luckily I only crave a few bites of anything ... Hope this goes away soon can't b healthy for the babes! :-(

Uh are you on Keto? Sistahhhhhh!

I am only eating a slight bit more carbs (guilty), but I definitely am not as sick as my last two pregnancies. I normally started getting really sick in about a week or so, so I guess we shall see!
