I'm still hoping to talk my husband into Jonathan Samuel... But, it doesn't seem likely...Bodhi is a new front runner (as are Shane and Ashton) but, not sure about spelling... Thoughts on spelling?
P.S. I keep asking you guys because we aren't announcing the name to anyone until after the Bris (at 8 days old) so, I can't get friends/family opinions!!
Bode may be the correct spelling and I've seen kids with that name but my instinct is to pronounce it "b/long O/d" like "something doesn't bode well for you."
Otherwise, bodhi looks weird as does bodie (think bodies).
I like the way the name sounds but not a big fan of it's spellings. My favorite is Jonathan. Sorry!
I don't know how unique it will be, Bode had the biggest spike in popularity last year of every male name out there, Bodie the 4th biggest and Bodhi the 17th.
We prefer that it's not too unique. My husband has a very unique name and struggled as a kid (and still as a professional) for people to pronounce it correctly. It's one of the reason we went for Jayden for our first -- I wanted the more biblical "Jadon"
I don't get this name AT ALL. Bode or Bodie sound surfer/stoner-ish to me, and Bodhi looks way too granola and pretentious. Also not a fan of Shane or Ashton, although I think Shane would go best with Jayden. Other possibilities that might fit your style:
Just don't be like the kid that I know, named BeauDee. EEK!
I stand corrected. Another former teacher of the center (where I had worked and the kid was) told me that was not his legal name. His first name is Beau, and his middle name STARTS with the letter "D". Since him and his dad have the same names (little one was named after his dad), they called him BeauDee <--- spelled that way, as a nickname.

Seriously, I was just on a roller coaster of emotions there with the saga of BeauDee. I'm glad the story ended well. That Miss Jay GIF was the priceless icing on the cake.

Bodhi looks like Delhi to me.
