I am breastfeeding and my baby spits up like crazy! She can drink for 5 min I'll take her off to burp it and it seems like she throws up what she just ate... I sit her upright when she eats and nothing seems to be working.. HELP

Re: Spitting up. HELP PLEASE

  • Totally normal! My 1st daughter used to spit up like the exorcist EVERY SINGLE TIME I was feeding her. I would switch her from one breast to the other and it was literally like someone just turned on a hose. My 2nd daughter didn't even spit up on single drop...EVER! And now my son spits up ALL THE TIME! Not as bad as my 1st daughter did, but still spits up. Believe me, it may seem like they're spitting it all up, but they're not. As long as they're gaining weight and growing accordingly, they're fine. Keep doing what your doing. Its totally normal

Check with your dr if your baby has a reflux problem...my son spits up tons and wasn't gaining enough weight so we went to the BF clinic and was prescribed a med to give him for reflux plus told not to burp him anymore. It helped a lot

Spitting up a lot can be completely normal, but it's always best to check with your doctor. And they usually grow out of it eventually but sometimes not until they start solid foods and stop nursing...

I feel really bad for you though! Of all the newborn baby things that go on I HATE spit up the most. Ugh. It's terrible.
