Well im 16 weeks and still losing weight.. Lost another 4lbs..dr say im fine n baby is too.. Jus really sick a lot still Anna refuse to take those pills to help with vomiting. So guess ill gain some eventually. I did feel baby fluttering first time this mother's day weekend
19w 5d and based off my home scale I've gained 2 pounds but I have my dr appt next Tuesday so we will see. I have a big round belly but I started off heavier so I'm ok with the slow gain I'm sure baby is taking up my reserves lol. I can't even say I eat super healthy cause I eat pretty much what I want so a balance of good and bad I'd say. I do think your body gains as it needs to and I'm sure come 3rd trimester when baby really starts putting on weight it's going to catch up with me
With my first I lost 10lbs on a design/build trip where I was on a sustainable farm in Costa Rica (3-4months) eating beans and rice everyday and gained that 10 back by the time I reached 7months and then I gained 45lbs more in the last three months. When I gave birth in one day I lost 24lbs and I thought I was going to pass out when I stood up because I was drastically lighter in one day .
This time I am 19 weeks and haven't gained anything yet but I'm sure just like last time it will all pile on at the end who knows though
On the pregnancy calculator (of apparently safe weight gain) it says I'm over the recommended weight gain for this week of pregnancy. But at my scan last week my doctor didn't seem concerned.
Do you think it's okay? I've heard if you gain too much then baby is at risk?
im 16 weeks and have lost 4 pounds, which i thought was weird because i didnt have any morning sickness through out my pregnancy. but my doctor didnt seemed concerned, so im not either.
19 weeks 5 days- gained around 8 or 9 lbs (3 or 4 kg) total so far. i gained the bulk of that last month between 12 and 16 weeks. now i have plateaued and even lost a bit. i guess the weight gain comes and goes! don't worry too much unless your doc says anything! even if you doubled it by the end of your pregnancy you'd still be in the "normal" range of 25 - 35 lbs total.
I'm 17 weeks today and I only gained 2 pounds :-/ i try to eat heathly and cut down on all junk foods...Also I'm still not showing which I wish I was. Everybody keeps telling me is normal because is my first. But it still doesn't make me stop worrying
I started out slim, my weight never changed regardless of diet or exercise - although I had more muscular vs more flabby times! I'm very concerned about gaining the right amount of weight in the right places! I haven't got as much exercise as I shud for good cause too - although I do walk most evenings. I'm noticing my jeans tight on my legs and love handles getting bigger! I'm 16 wks, up 10 lbs, 5'9"
Almost 16 weeks, plus size, lost 15 and been holding steady, give or take 2 lbs depending on what scale in the office I stand on. So is that normal to have not gained, or am I just continuing to lose/gain at the same pace?
18 weeks and I have gained 2 lbs. I was on the bigger side to begin with, a size 12/14 before pregnancy. I asked my doc and she said everything is fine. A healthy gain for me would be 15-20 lbs overall, but not to stress about it, and only eat when hungry. She said baby will take what it needs from mother's fat storage no matter what. There is really no medical reason to eat any more than usual, besides being hungrier.
I only weigh myself on mornings after i get a good 8-10 hr sleep ... so weekends of days my boss says to come in late. So far im 20 weeks and up 10 pds
I agree with the other posters...everyone is different. Talk with your doctor, she'll tell you if you should worry.
I started out over weight and i've lost 15lbs. My doctor says that's totally normal and the baby is fine. She expects me to start gaining by the 3rd trimester. I still look like i'm putting on weight but you can't tell it's a baby...i just look fat.
I'm 20 weeks and have gained 8 pounds but I do think it all depends on the mama. Some have to gain more and some less. I was 130 when I became preggers and very active .... it just all depends on you.
There really is no "normal" as every person and ever pregnancy is different. As long as your healthcare provider is happy and you are making healthy choices for the most part, don't worry about your weight.
19 w here and gained 9 lbs. I'm 5'6 and was 132 to start. That's exactly where I started with DS and gained 32 lbs overall (about 20 were lost in the first two weeks pp and back to pre-preg weight by 3.5 months pp, although my body was certainly NOT the same). I think I'm tracking about the same. They say you gain about 1 lb/week in the second half of pregnancy, so that seems about right. I eat the same as I did pre-pregnancy and working out the same too (4x per week). I wouldn't worry! Just stay healthy as best you can.
Re: How much have you gained already? Am I normal?
