Stop having sex?

I'm a first time mom and almost 24 weeks. When should my husband and I stop having sex? I'm feeling a little uncomfortable asking my OB.

Why would you need to stop? Unless you have a medical reason, you can have sex your entire pregnancy.

Wait, what? This is a question specific to your individual pregnancy health. Many healthy pregnant women can have sex all the way up to active labor.

In fact, it's encouraged at full term (40 weeks) to jump start labor.

Well, at our prenatal classes and the health unit, they did say not to have sex once your water breaks. I think it might have when been in one of the books too.

Not until your water breaks, unless your Dr/ Midwife says otherwise. Don't put anything in your vagina after the water breaks- toys, tampons, your fingers, or a penis.
