Return of endometriosis?

I'm curious if there's anyone out there that has had previous kids and have endometriosis? Did your endo return? If so, how soon? Were you able to get pregnant with a second child without extra help? I only found out during the process of infertility treatments for the baby I'm having now that I even had it. I was always suspicious, but was never sure until I saw a specialist.

If there's somewhere maybe more appropriate to post this, let me know! I kind of just don't know what to expect with this and am dreading the return of the pain. I also don't want to call my RE just yet. I think I'm dreading their response...

Mine returned. I went on Lupron before I got pregnant with my first DD and got pregnant a few months after the shots wore off. She is 5 1/2 now. I was unable to get pregnant again, even with a year of fertility treatmens (3 IUI's and 3 IVF's). Then we took in two foster boys (newborn and 17 month old) and within a month I got pregnant with this one. Last summer though my endometriosis was terrible and the pain and my periods were awful, but I still ended up miraculously pregnant with no assistance. So you just never know. Endo is not easy! It has caused me a lot of pain and a handful of pelvic surgeries. Honestly, if mine comes back again, I would consider a partial hysterectomy.

  • I had endometriosis before DD1. Did Lupron two years prior to trying to conceive. Had to do fertility treatments after our 1st year trying. Finally conceived after a year of treatments and haven't had any issues since. I've had two spontaneous pregnancies since, as well.
  • Thanks for the responses! I'm so sorry yours came back full force like that @bosleyb. I think to some people a partial hysterectomy can sound a little extreme, but they really have no idea how debilitating endo can be. I think I'm just a little freaked out mine will actually come back worse after all the fertility treatments we went through :(

@ngaines27 It sounds like you've had a good experience! Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed I end up going your way! I've always wondered what it might be like to become pregnant on my own.
