So my intention of this post is definitely NOT to start a pro/anti vax debate but am instead looking for your experiences. My daughter got her first round of shots at 2mo, I brought her home, fed her, gave her Tylenol and put her down for a nap. She slept for 2 hours and woke up screaming, she screamed for 2 1/2 hours. I know this is listed as a moderate reaction to Dtap. Here are my questions: if your child had a similar reaction what did your ped recommend for the 4mo vaccines? If you got the second Dtap did your child react the same?
Re: Dtap
Stick to the AAP guidelines for shots. Vaccines are important.
I know it's hard to watch your baby cry, but the vaccines are important. For the 4 mo shots I would just hold off on the meds until she needs them, and give lots of cuddles. It's better than the alternative if you don't vaccinate.
