3D US @ 21 Weeks?

Hello girls, we are planning to get a 2 scan package deal.. And want to get the most out of it. We are wanting to go on Mothers Day for the 1st scan (will be 20w 6d) and then for the 2nd at about 30-32 weeks.

Has anyone had a 3D done early as well? If so how did your photos turn out? Thanks for any replies in advance

I went at 19 weeks during this pregnancy and the pictures were very clear. The baby looked more "skeletal" because they don't weigh very much at this point. She hadn't developed cute chubby cheeks yet. It was still very cool to see the baby so clearly. And I went with my last baby at 27 weeks and it was a big difference as in the face looked fuller. The 3D tech I know recommends waiting until you're 30 weeks if you really want to see a chubby little baby that looks like your future child haha. We went in just for gender confirmation at 15 weeks and she is tiny and basically still just skin and bones, didn't get any good shots of her face or anything. Just my personal experience. But to me, it's honestly always worth it to see baby one extra time ;-)

I didn't pay to have one but my u/s tech showed us some 3d shots when we went for our anatomy scan at 21 weeks and tbh it wouldn't have been worth it to me if we had paid. I was glad to see baby but the 3d shots just looked like little lumps, there was no real facial detail. If you're going to do it I would definitely wait until 30+ weeks so you get some good shots that actually look like baby.

I'll be going in tomorrow for an elective ultrasound at 23w2d but the only reason I'm going is because my 20 week scan was done at 18 weeks and it was rushed. The pictures were terrible (Dark and blurry). Just going in to get nicer clearer 2nd tri photos, get a stuffed animal with baby's heartbeat, and to make sure our baby boy is still a boy lol. We plan on going back at 33 weeks to see what our little one is actually going to look like. I can't wait!

Here is a 3d ultrasound of our baby girl at about 18 weeks, we will be getting another 3d of her when I am 29 weeks along

I had a 3d ultrasound at 17 weeks. The pictures don't look very good because she's still so small and developing. My friend had one done at 30 weeks and her pictures are amazing and look just like her son when he was born. If I could do it over, I would wait until I was further along to get mine done but I definitely love my pics and don't regret going. Anytime I get to see my baby is precious!

We went in to have one done at 18w5d and they weren't able to do 3D because he was so low and positioned wrong. The tech said it's better to wait until around 30 weeks anyway. We went primarily to find out gender so we didn't care that we only got the 2D. It was such a fun experience though that my SO wanted to go back around 30-32 weeks for the 3D. We will see if that works out or not

Had a 2D/3D elective ultrasound at 19 weeks, 2 days. 2D was great, the 3D/4D was unimpressive. Knew it wouldn't be great since it was so early... My baby's face just looked kinda flat and featureless. We have the option to go back again for a discounted price later on as part of an optional combo they do, but don't think I will. But who knows

Here is mine from today. I will be 20 weeks tomorrow. I thought mine was pretty clear and he looks like his dad...he is so cute I can't stop looking at him.
