Honestly, nothing... DH got me flowers last week that he said were for Mother's Day but I think that's it. I'm fine with it, LO isn't here yet so to be honest I don't really feel like a mom yet. I'm excited to really celebrate next year when she's here
I'm not expecting anything. We'll probably take the moms in law to dinner or something. I need to get at least a card for my mom. Because she's awesome.
I have 5 other children, so just spending the day with them is far better than anything else. My favorite gifts are the ones that they make me at school and at home to surprise me.
We are staying the night in a local nice hotel (our last minute "baby moon" bc I was too scared to travel far). It has a really nice pool so I'm praying for nice weather and relaxing.
We are having my parents and my brother's family over for a BBQ so that my mom and my sister-in-law don't have to cook. Side note-my parents sent flowers to my work for Mother's Day-that was totally unexpected and I cried. I do not expect anything for Mother's Day this year. I also reiterated that to my husband.
I'm going to visit my mom and my grandmothers. Then I'm going to visit my dad because his birthday is that day, too! I do have to admit that I'm a little jealous of those of you that will be having barbecues and hanging out near a pool!
I will call my mom for Mother's Day and otherwise that's it. DH is on duty this weekend so I am home alone. This weekend I have to clean the house a little bit, I may work on the baby's room a little bit, I may just go sit outside in the anti-gravity lounge chair a little bit. No pool or BBQ for me, but I've got options for relaxation
We are doing a bbq at my parents' house for both my mom and grandma and my husband's mom and grandma. I'm secretly hoping someone surprises me with a little something for Mother's Day. I'm not expecting it, but it would be a nice thought.
I'm making my usual loop of Staten Island and Long Island to see my mother in law and my mom with DH. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and having some nice dinners with them.
aliciac2008 i'm not expecting anything for Mother's day this year but i'm secretly hoping for a little surprise. I mean, We're all moms at this point right?! I wont be disappointed if i spend this last year under the radar though
DH and I are going to see the new Avenger's movie and then out to a late dinner at a nice restaurant tomorrow night. Then on actual Mother's Day I think we might just head over to my parent's house for a BBQ type meal since I know my parents always love seeing DD so that will be a nice little Mother's Day gift for my mom!
We are taking our mothers out to breakfast then going home and doing yard work lol I don't plan on doing anything for me. We are just wanting to get some outside things done before LO comes in a few weeks. My mom is taking me to get a pedicure for my first mothers day. I just feel weird celebrating it since she's not here yet. Am I the only one who feels odd celebrating it when she's not here yet?
I felt odd celebrating, too! But, my husband made a good point, he said I have been more of a parent the last 36 weeks than he has had to be. Couldn't argue with that logic...bring on the presents!
Hubs extended family is into doing just about everything together. They all live within 20 minutes of each other whereas we live almost 2 hours away, but are still expected to show up for everything. So, we will be going to FIs brother's wife's parents' house (yeah) along with FIs 2 brothers, their wives, their two kids, FIs parents, FIs brother's wife's sister, the brother's wife's 2 brothers and their wives, and FIs OTHER brother's wife's parents -_- this is also how we spent Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving. MIL also invited all of them to my shower. Woo.
Spending the day with my mom and sister. Hopefully outside somewhere, depending on the weather. I feel like I've been sooooo spoiled during this whole pregnancy, I really don't want anyone to do anything for me.
I am having my own family over to celebrate mothers day. Bought a house in the fall so finally get to entertain. Definitely expecting my dh to do something, my edd is less than a month away but ob says l/o will be here this month no matter what.
My SIL are going to have a sister day and go out for lunch and shopping.
I don't know if DH even realizes it is Mother's Day since I already took care of the gifts for our moms... Lol. So I am not really expecting anything...

So apparently I was mistaken when I posted this^^^
I got home from my internship to find a card and a gift from "LO" (aka DH acting as LO) - seriously so adorable. Also, please note the return address on the envelope (which DH insists LO put in the mail herself... even though she obviously isn't here yet lol).
We just had dinner with my in laws for my nieces birthday. My MIL gets really crazy about spending Mothers Day with her family. I think she wants to go to a park with her extended family, even though it's going to be cold. I'm not up for it. I just want to relax on Sunday night. My SIL offered up doing dessert at her house on Sunday with just them, us and MIL and FIL. I'd be okay with that. MIL kept asking me what our plans are and all I could say was "Hopefully relaxing".
We're visiting my mom and MIL for the weekend 4 hours away and praying our house doesn't flood while we're gone. We've had a week straight of rain and it's going to be heavy and steady all weekend with a 1-4" dose of snow on Mother's Day and 10-20" in the mountains where we have to drive. I'm not looking forward to that part. I wish we could give some if this rain to California. We've had our fill for the month.
We're doing a picnic on the beach we were supposed to go to my MIL's for dinner but after she bitched me out last weekend (literally screamed/cussed me out) for telling her friend that she was making me uncomfortable by touching me so much (I don't know this woman and she wasn't taking hints, wouldn't stop rubbing and petting me all over) hubby and I decided to do things on our own this year. I'm pretty excited, I've never had a Mother's Day to myself before!
I'll be spending my Mother's Day just a workin' away in the ole ICU, but it's all good last night I had cramps for most of the night and I was thinking how cool it would be if my water broke while at work today and I could just waddle over to L&D and have my baby on Mother's Day, but I know that's probably not going to happen, but it would be pretty sweet! Happy Mother's Day mommies!!
I was rustling around in the kitchen for cereal at 7:55 am. DH shot up from sleeping, and said "oh no! my alarm was set for 8 am to go get you breakfast! Happy Mother's Day!" It was cute.
Oh and then I added, "Don't worry, I eat two breakfasts now." And out he went!
I drove in to surprise my mom for Mother's Day, so we are going out to lunch and doing a little baby shopping. My husband is adorable and got me a sea glass necklace and scarf last week for my "first" Mother's Day, even though I don't consider this one my first Happy Mother's Day ladies! I hope you get to relax today!
Good morning and Happy Mother's Day to all of us! Yesterday I was supposed to have my maternity photo shoot, so hubby and the kiddos gave me my Mother's day gift early so I could wear it for the shoot. It is a James Avery bracelet with a charm to represent all of our children including our new baby girl who has yet to arrive. However, there was too much cloud cover so we had to reschedule. I am really hoping she stays in so I don't miss out. We ended up going to the pool yesterday which was really relaxing. Today has started off wonderfully with a delicious breakfast that I didn't have to cook myself...lol. No plans, but my perfect day would be to have a family day together.
Re: Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to each of you!

@karaelaine1991 that is so sweet and thoughtful of your husband! Love the address "below your chest, above your butt" lol
