My DD attends daycare and about a month ago, they said that we need to start preparing her to transition her from the infant room to the 1 year old room. Well, yesterday, I got the notice that next week is THE week that she will be moving over, just as she hits 14 months.
I know it is so silly, but after I dropped her off this morning, I sat in my car and cried about her "growing up". Of course this is what I want and she needs, but there was some sadness about the passing of time.
I totally get it! Our daughter transitioned to the toddler room early because she was an early walker (10 months) and they start the transition at my day care once the kiddos start walking. So I was totally unprepared for her to move up. Thankfully they didn't fully transition until she hit 1 year but it was still hard (on me not her). Thank goodness she is still young enough to squeeze and snuggle and kiss. It will be extra hard when she starts not wanting me to do those things I think. they grow up so fast!
I was never sad about them growing up. I love it! At 3.5 and 20 months they are soooooo much fun and still cuddle all the time. They are older, more independent, and life is so much easier at the age. But I know a lot of people are like you, and are very sad to see the baby phase go.
