Baby bed problems

My LO has started rolling over about 3 weeks ago (he's now 5 months) and in having an awful time with him in his bed. Every time I put him down whether for naps or bedtime, he rolls over and then fusses and cries because he's sleepy but wants to be on his tummy but he won't sleep in that position. I've been trying to get him to sleep without aid of his rocker since he's older now and needs to learn but after hours of trying to get him to sleep and turning him over every time, I break and put him to sleep in the rocker.

He's also been rolling in his sleep and recently had been waking every hour for the past few nights and not able to go back to sleep for either being on his tummy or just can't without help. We co-sleep so I'm next to his bed but it's hard to do any CIO or other techniques at night due to cosleeping. My husband gets to bed between 11-12 and is up at 5 every morning so I can't just let baby cry unless I tell husband to go somewhere else and sleep. I'm just drained and so sleep deprived right now.

Anyone have any advice? One for the rolling over and the other for the sleep problem?

I don't have any advice for the rolling, other than it will pass. However, I would say you need to get Baby Moru into his own room to better your sleep and his.

I keep my LO's legs swaddled to help stop the rolling. Also, more tummy time during the day to get used to it so she doesn't get so upset if she does roll.
  • Unfortunately, we live in Japan and our apartment now is so small we don't have a baby room :/ so we have to co-sleep.

And we also do tummy time almost all day. Anytime I put him down he rolls over. I tried using his blanket to swaddle his legs (they don't sell swaddle blankets at baby stores here so I have used only a regular blanket) but he kept kicking it off and turning despite it all :/

Last night was better. He would cry a bit but put himself to sleep most of the time on his stomach so I think maybe it's just that he's getting used to it....we shall see how it goes.

Try doing a horse shoe, get 2-3 swaddled blankets stack them on top of each other.. Then roll them up tight, should have a long burrito looking thing. Now under the crib sheet shape the burrito like a U and put crib sheet over it to keep little one from rolling back and Forth

Some babies just really don't like being on their tummies. =( I just nurse my LO every time she wakes up. I will start trying to wean at night around six months or after.
But for now I don't have the will to let her cry at night. Plus, Like you, my husband gets less than 6 hours sleep at night.
