Pregnant after IF

Second beta

Had my second and final beta yesterday at 16dp5dt and it came back at 10,576. Freak-out ensued. Of course my first question was molar pregnancy. RN said don't worry about that, your betas aren't astronomical and that is what happens with molars. DH begs to differ, he feels it IS astronomical! Apparently it's doubling in like 30 hours. Cannot believe I am spending today- my 40th birthday, no less- panicked about a good number! Does our worrying never end? Anyway, what do you guys think? I know some of you replied to my intro post and weighed in on my first beta. To answer a question from that post, we transferred two early blasts. Hope everyone is doing well!

I am not sure what a molar is so can't comment on that. But I think just trust the doctor if he isn't worried then I would take his word for it! I like them to be very straight talking with me so maybe phone up and ask if you don't feel like your question was answered clearly about if it's a problem or for a clear interpretation of the results. It doesn't hurt to ask and reducing the worry by feeling stressed can only help.

Maybe you just have two very healthy growing in there!

When is Your first scan? That's what I can not wait for as I think will put a lot of our fear aside. Or maybe I am being too optimistic!

I also had 2 5 day blasts! Looking forward mostly to finding out if it's one or two growing away in there!

My first beta at 9dpt was 248 and second at 11dpt was 536. I don't have another scheduled just a scan in 6 days.

I wish you the healthiest and happiest 9 months!!

    And have a great Birthday!!

High betas are great and really no reason to be concerned. My first few betas doubled in 25 hours and a lot of women have real high betas. It's a good sign! Such a small percent of women have molars. And, no, the worry never really goes away. But, it does get more exciting with every milestone you'll pass!

  • OP, we have SO much to worry about, high betas should not be one of them.
This was our second transfer and my numbers were way higher than the first set of numbers but both came out with the same result - nice and pregnant. Perhaps your numbers show twins or perhaps just a super sticky baby!
Enjoy your birthday and enjoy your mother's day. Try to keep your mind off of it.
