Honey11

Hi ladies i was told today by some friends that i should not be using honey ! I don't cook with it but yesterday i used some in a recipe & i put some in my tea everyday ! I read that it was safe for pregnant women but not my friends have made me worried . Any advice ??

  • I have heard that we shouldn't use honey that is unpasteurized, but that pasteurized is okay. I think that this is the raw honey vs. regular honey but I'm not 100% sure!

  • If it's from a store, it's fine. You just can't have local honey as it is not pasteurized.
  • Yeah and this sucks because raw homey helps me with my allergies. So i am suffering bad. Claritin and all the approved meds do not help me. I was on xyzal. And can't take it during pg. Sigh. Anyways store bought honey is just fine.
  • I still have raw honey...I feel like the danger from raw honey vs raw milk or cold cuts is different. I know some people will probably disagree, but the natural healing properties for colds and allergies is too good to pass up, especially in pregnancy.

  • My pediatrician and OB have said that honey from your area is good for you and that it poses no risk to the unborn baby only a child that has already been born and is under the age of 1 because they are too small.
