Thank you note question

I was thrown a shower at work and not sure how to do thank you notes. A few women in the office gave individual gifts so I plan to give each a thank you note. A group of people, mostly men (think construction worker type) all threw money in and got diapers and and gift card. Should I send a thank you note to each individual person? Send a thank you email or, I was thinking of bringing in donuts one morning with a thank you note to all. Tacky?

I would think the donuts would go well...with a print out that says "Thank you". I don't know if it's exactly proper etiquette but I think they would appreciate that!

Same question from me, but my shower isn't until next week. I also was thinking doughnuts and coffee the next morning but wonder about it, too!

I think it depends on how your relationship is with your coworkers. Mine threw me a shower, and where some bought individual gifts, some all pitched in and got a few items together. I work in a smaller department so I wrote out an individual thank you to each person.

I always do individual thank you notes, but I was raised with strict british parents.

I also did all individual notes, but the biggest group of people to go together on a gift was 2 or 3. My showers also were not in an office setting where I could've easily thanked people together. If you have a very laid back relationship with these men, I think that for diapers and a gift card donuts would probably be acceptable.

I did individual thank yous for those that gave individual gifts and did a group thank you card for the group that contributed cash. I left the card in the area where we sign in.

I would say individual notes. However, having worked with a bunch of big burly construction men, I think coffee, donuts and a big ole' "thank you"! Would go much further

I think it totally depends on the relationship. In most cases I would say individual, but really these guys might appreciate donuts a lot more. Go with your gut on this one!

I think donuts are a great idea. Most men don't care about cards anyway. But donuts will be appreciated! I work with mostly men and am using this approach as well. Individual gifts get cards, a thank you note and treats for the group gift.
