This morning I took the 1 hour test and failed.I'm taking the 3 hour test tmrw. Has anyone failed the 1 hour but pass the 3 hour? Or should I get ready to be told I have gestational diabetes? I'm 24 weeks as of yesterday
I just failed my 1 hour test with a reading of 166. My doctors would like to see the number below 140. Just got my results for the the 3 hour and I passed just fine. I think I've read recently that 2 out of 3 women who fail the 1 hour test, go on to pass the 3 hour. Good luck!
I've never passed a 1-hour test (3) but I've passed all of my 3-hour tests (4). This last time I asked to skip the 1-hour and just do the 3-hour so I only had to drink the drink once

I failed the 1 hour with my daughter and passed the 3 hour. My sister failed the 1 hour with her first 3 kids but passed the 3 hour with all of them. They finally let her skip the 1 hour with her 4th baby and she passed the 3 hour. It happens a lot. I just took my 1 hour yesterday and am pretty much expecting a call saying I failed but I'm not real concerned about actually having GD.
Just throwing this out there for anyone who is in the same boat as me... If you've ever had weight loss surgery (gastric bypass, roux en-y, etc) you cannot get a true reading drinking the drink.
I wasn't told this for my first pregnancy and I failed. They told me I had gestational diabetes and I had to prick my finger multiple times a day, I had to pay for the kit which wasn't covered by my insurance. I was told later that I didn't have gestational diabetes and because of my history with having weight loss surgery it resulted in a false positive.
I now know with pregnancy #2 that there are other options for testing other than drinking the drink. They can take your blood and test the levels and there is something called the pancake test (I don't know what that is though).
I failed the 1 hour with my second baby and when I took the 3 hour I was borderline so they wanted me to treat it as if I had gestational diabetes. It really sucked holding back on eating food but the only good thing was I didn't gain to much weight so that was nice for afterwards.
This is something I tried. With my 3rd baby I failed the 1 hour but passed the other. My next baby I made sure I ate breakfast eggs only and water...helped me pass with flying colors. As long as you have no sugar or carbs before guilt can eat protein foods outta I didn't desk kinder crap after drinking that sugar filed crack drink.
I've been eating a lot of carbs thru my first and now second trimester. The last appt the doctor warned me that a 7lb gain in 1 MTH is unhealthy and I need to ease up on processed carbs unless I want to find myself pricking myself with a needle 4 times per day. How have you ladies been eating and gaining? Also what should you be doing right before the GD test (not eat, not eat carbs, sugar etc)?
