    GL to everyone cycling!!

AFM: Beta is going to be drawn first thing Monday.  I'll post an update when I hear the news.

  • Whoot Whoot @mm29 !!!!!!!!!! That's awesome!!!!!!!

Sorry for the late check in! My Dad had a heart attack so :( ...we think he will be ok though. He'll have a procedure today to make sure everything is ok up there. fingers crossed.

In the world of pregnancy - things are going ok. Sky is kicking up a storm in there. We are 29w+3d now (wow! almost in the 30's!!!!) Glucose test came back normal so that's awesome!

What's not awesome is all our friends and family constantly asking, "Are you sure she (our surrogate) will still give up the baby?" "Are you sure she's not getting attached?" "Are you sure she won't try and keep it?" - oh... my... god... not helpful! Like it is not one of DH and my biggest fears! Anything could happen! - I know they're just curious and concerned for us out of love, but my god the stress it puts us under to be so constantly reminded of our worst fears. Everything will be ok. Everytime we talk about it with our surrogate all systems are still a go. She's still looking forward to not being pregnant. She's still excited to laugh at us being zombies and not sleeping as she sleeps the days away during maternity leave. Are we SURE of anything - heck no!!!! But I guess this is one of those situations where you just have to hope and have a little faith everything will work out ok... and I think it will. ... ok, rant over, sorry.

QOTW: Let's go back in time, what is a time in your life that you wish you could go back to and live again because it was so great?

    - No way... wouldn't go anywhere but here! Right now is pretty darn awesome!

  • Yay @mm29!  Congrats!

@KevinandJesse - Ugh I hope your dad is okay!
Being on the other side of the arrangement, as a surrogate I can tell you I feel protective of these babies but not attached.  I don't have all the new baby stuff sitting around the house like I would if I were bringing home my own new baby, so I really never think of them as anything other than a wonderful gift for their parents.  It's my job to get them there, where all the new baby stuff is.  They're not biologically mine or siblings to my kids, but they will be our great friends.

Also, what would I do with TWINS!  I think that's what I worry about, that something will happen and their dads will change THEIR minds and I will be bringing twins home.

All good here - the girls dropped some already at 27 weeks.  They move a lot, and were competing for first-born status at my last ultrasound, forehead-to-forehead way down low.  Looking forward to seeing them for a growth ultrasound Monday.  I passed the 3-hour glucose test and found out I'm anemic but glad to know why I've been having breathing issues and I can fix it.

QOTW: Let's go back in time, what is a time in your life that you wish you could go back to and live again because it was so great?

Oh, I don't think any time in my life was better than it is right now!

  • @CinciSurro - thank you so much. It's really great to hear your mentality. Our surrogate I know feels the same way. I totally get what you're saying too... it's scary on both sides of the coin. Maybe this is hard parenting lesson #1 for DH and I... stop letting other people's opinions make you scared/nervous/anxious/think you're doing a bad job. The only 4 people that matter in this situation are our surrogate, DH and I, and Our Son (I'll never get tired of saying that, "our son!")

Congrats on 27 weeks!!! Great milestone!! Twins are awesome! :) I've always wanted twins

  • Hiiiii everyone!!! Omg @mm29 congrats x10000!!!!! Finally :)

Afm: FET#2 is on the books for 5/12! I have to get blood work the day prior to confirm I didn't ovulate due to a small cyst (or follicle) on my usual rockstar left ovary. Sigh. So trying to trust all will move forward!

From a parenting front, Sim1 is nearing 9 months and doing great! I hope it's ok to PIP her as it's been a while!!

QOTD: like @KevinandJesse I am pretty happy right now! But, my early days with my wife were pretty carefree and full of fun travels and shows and being out in the world which I loved!!! So maybe I'd re-live that time. I loved college too, I could go back there and be happy too!!
