When to start trying?

i just got my first period and I want to start trying but my doctor wants me to wait one more cycle. Baby was 6 weeks when it stopped growing and I passed my baby at 10 weeks. When did you all start trying?

First let me say please listen to your doctor. Other people's experiences have no bearing on you. Your doctor knows your individual circumstances. We don't.

That being said, my doctor gave me the ok to start TTC again at my 6 week follow up after my d&c procedure. She did that after checking me over to make sure everything looked ok. If your doctor is telling you to wait it is for good reason. Don't be afraid to ask him/her questions to help you understand why.

I agree with tiggerfish, there is a reason why doctor told you to wait. It might have to do with his/her experience or with your case in particular. I just had a D&C yesterday and the only thing the doctor said about was to not have intercourse for 2 weeks. After that he said we could start trying as soon as we feel prepared. But again, the advise is be based on each doctor's experience and each patient's particular case. I would call him and ask him/her if I were you. Whatever you decide I hope you will soon have a baby on the way!

I know it sucks to be benched but please follow your doctors orders.

As PPs have said, you should ask your doctor why he or she wants you to wait another cycle. The training could be based on his/her experience over the years with other patients or based on your specific case or a combination. If you understand the reasoning behind the recommendation, you can make a more informed decision about when to try again. Good luck.
