I just took my son for his 12 month well visit yesterday. The doctor said that his testicles are up in his groin rather than in his scrotum. She didn't seem too concerned but told us to keep an eye on it. Has anyone else ever heard of this happening? The doctor checked at each well visit and they've been fine until now. I've checked after warm baths or naps and they still don't seem to come down
Re: Issues with testicles
Yes, I've heard of undescended testicles. Perhaps one co-worker mentioned it regarding her son. I believe it can be associated with fertility issues ... I just consulted Dr Google and one site suggests treatment in "The time between six and 18 months of age is generally considered best, when taking into account surgical and anesthetic factors." WebMD has a good picture, but I didn't find treatment descriptions. My dad has had hernia problems all his life and finally figured out - he was premie --- related issues.
