Avocado question for dummies...

I am going to start Jacob on solids.  I know he won't eat the whole thing, how do I prevent the leftovers from turning brown and mushy?

Keep the pit in the other half and cover tightly with plastic wrap. The key is just to keep the air off of it, so you want wrap to cover every bit of exposed fruit. It will still get somewhat brown, but it will be ok. you can always slice off the exposed brown parts.

I may be strange but I never seem to really taste the lemon juice.

You could just go ahead and mash the entire thing, then freeze it in individual portions in an ice cube tray.

Add in some sour cream and it makes it creamier!
