hello lovelies. Finally made a chiro appointment for tomorrow, which I think is just the exam, no popping. I've been been having killer mid back/in between my shoulder pain, almost like a pinched nerve & I'm hoping she can help! Also having some siatic pain on right side!
Anyone here gone to see a chiropractor while pregnant?
I went to one when my migraines started. First appt he did pop my C1 back into place. Upper neck. It felt nice but did not help my migraines. There is however huge testimonies of chiropractors helping back and headache pain.
I see my Chiro regularily! He's cut my headaches down to almost zero (I was a migraine sufferer before) and has made any sort of back pain that I've felt completely disappear!
I just started going to one now at almost 35 weeks. I'm going more for sciatic and pelvic pain but after just one visit I can definitely tell its better. Good luck tomorrow!
Thanks ladies! @klkonwi I found her through a friend who used her while pregnant, so I'm hoping for good reviews!! I used to see one in high school for a disc issue, so I'm excited for the relief I know is coming!!!
I've seen one twice so far for SPD relief. It helped for about three weeks at a time. My chiro is actually my neighbor who is due In May and has been trained for prenatal and infant care. She's got a good track record in turning breech babies too. Definitely find someone who is qualified and highly recommended!
I know I should call. I have horrible sciatic pain. My OB gave me the name and number of one she sends all her pregnant moms to. I just struggle because I don't have time to go. I have to pick up kids at school every day. I'm not home til 6. I'm swamped at work. Ugh. I've just been pushing thru it.
I go every two weeks for realignment and it feels so good to be cracked and have things shifted back into place. Don't know what I would do without my chiro
Yes! This is my second pregnancy with regular chiropractic care and it is so, so much better than my first pregnancy when I didn't know how helpful it is. My chiro specializes in pregnancy, so she is a treasure trove of wisdom. Before I saw her, I saw a kind of clueless guy that wasn't a fit (he actually asked me if it was healthy to lose 5 lbs a week when I was >2 months post-partum). I was so glad I found the right fit! It has been worth every penny (my insurance doesn't cover her, so we pay OOP).
Love mine. I was in a wreck years back and injured pretty bad . he helped with all the pain. I still had surgery and pain medicine.. But don't have to take it all the time any more.. When my neck hurts.. He does his thing and I feel amazing after. Just a warning.. You might feel a little sore the first few times.
I have been to several chiropractors throughout my life, and have never once had a visit without being adjusted - even a first visit. Just throwing that out there, so hopefully you can get some treatment on your first visit, too. Good luck! Hope you have as much success with yours as I have.
And for the record, among the 8+ chiropractors that I have seen in 3 states and two countries, even the ones I would consider "bad" have only failed to fully adjust me. I have never felt unsafe (knock on wood) - but I have always chosen them through recommendations or online reviews.
@niknak1208 ....try to make time! It's glorious. I normally go just for maintenance when not pregnant, but he's done wonders for my nerve pain this pregnancy! Hopefully yours would only take up a small amount of time. I usually only wait a bit and its sooo worth it.
Holy heaven. I have a new best friend. I may send her flowers tomorrow. She was phenomenal! Wonderful "bed side" manners (not sure what to label that, but y'all know), very knowledgable, & helpful. She asked a ton of questions, offered wonderful advice on labor, & explained each step as she went. I DID get adjusted & praise Jesus. She started at my hips (Did you know that adjustment can help get baby head down?!), & worked her way up my spine (the amount of pops made it clear I needed it). She then did my neck sitting up. She said baby girl would be wiggly since she has more room & she is. Next week we start stretches to help with labor!!
I too am seeing one who specializes in pregnant ladies. Kept me in great alignment. Haven't had back problems at all. He also at 28 weeks started some special belly voodoo. Question is who will be taking your baby in for an adjustment? I've heard amazing things and there are always babies there when I go.
We've taken our babies/kids in for adjustments. It is very, very gentle. My kids love to go with me, as I get adjusted regularly. The 2 year old was mad last week when his brother (with an ear infection) and I got turns and he didn't, so I let him get up on the table and I patted his back a little bit which he loved.
krystleshel- I am glad it was a good experience! My chiro focus on fetal positioning as well.
