Re: TWW for 3/27

  • I'm not sure exactly the deal. I discarded one temp bc it was such an outlier and now I have CH that say I'm 5dpo.  It makes the most sense, bc that's where the CM and the pos OPK was, but who knows. Only time will tell.
No real symptoms. I figure I'll test next Monday.

I'm 7 DPO today, with -3, -2, -1 timing. I'm trying to hold out until Friday before testing, although I have a stack of Wondfos at home....

This has been our first cycle TTC after my miscarriage (second cycle post mc), and the cycle has been really weird. I had some strange mid-cycle spotting on CD10, +OPKs on CD10, 11, and 12, a random glob of EWCM yesterday.... I've had some mild pelvic cramping over the past day, but I think that may have more to do with my Crohn's Disease than a possible PG. I'm doing my best not to symptom spot and stay patient.

Best of luck to everyone this week!

  • I'm CD 31/DPO 5 today with timing -3 and -1.

This is our first cycle TTC for #3. Early in this cycle I had my annual exam and when discussing my plans for TTC with OB he was concerned that I'm not ovulating due to my complaint of long cycles due to BF. He had me take a blood test on CD 24 for progesterone but FF has O on CD 26. Of course he had a nurse call me to tell me that I'm not ovulating and he wants me to come in to discuss "options." My appointment is tomorrow and I'm somewhat nervous about what he has in mind. He's already dismissed temping as just guess work. I guess since it's my first month TTC I'm not prepared to have this conversation. I will have to make sure to ask a lot of questions.
  • @Anna.acb - If your temping is confirming ovulation (you are seeing good, strong, clear patterns), I would definitely be more firm with this OB or find a new one. I also have long cycles but my OB waits until 7 days after my temps confirm ovulation before doing the progesterone test (and there's been some cycles I O as late as CD 29...or not at all). Do you have regular cycles or are they irregular?

  • @jilligan14 -it's my first month temping but I think my chart is showing a clear ovulation. Started temping because I've been so irregular and have had long cycles since AF started again after BF for over a year. My last cycle was 62 days. You're right I will have to be firm with my OB. I'm hoping that I don't need to find a new one, he did my last c-section with no complications.

  • It looks like you did ovulate to me, but maybe it is one of those situations where you need 7 days of temp rise like @Jilligan14 said? Are you really consistent with the temping?
It's so hard to know what to think with all of this, isn't it ? I have regular cycles and my doctor just dismissed the idea that i wasn't ovulating saying that I have regular cycles so i must, but it just seems nuts to me that I could go this long with no positives, no chemicals, no miscarriages, nada. I just don't get how that's possible. But who knows.

  • I'm going to suggest to my OB tomorrow that we retest since I should be 7 DPO on Thursday. Hopefully that is the next step that he would recommend anyways since he knows I've had long cycles. I'm pretty good about temping at the same time everyday, but rarely get 3 hrs of sleep.

How long have you been TTC? I'm not sure why any doctor would dismiss concerns you have about your own body.
  • We've been trying for 10 months. Yeah, I had a weird reaction to him. On the one hand it was reassuring bc he's like it's just time and there is nothing wrong with you. On the other, I'm like, really? Are you sure? Maybe I'm just overanalyzing.  He was very like old school, traditional western medicine doctor. I might try to go to a different person, but none of it is covered, so I'm not sure that's an option right now.

  • I'm with you, I think 10 months is a long time and I think a RE is recommended after 6 mos if you're over 35. If your insurance doesn't cover it, then I totally get not be able to make that step. It's still surprising that your OB isn't more proactive. Fx for you!
  • Well that was an RE! We went after about 7 or 8 months.  All tests looked fine for both of us. In fact, better than fine. Great. Especially him. My u/s looked great. He told me everything was fine. Didn't want to look at my charts. Told me that if I'm getting regular periods I must be ovulating.  But something must be up. Bc I just don't get it. Maybe my eggs just aren't viable. We'd only know that if we did a retrieval.  The next step would be clomid I think. On the plus side, your chart is looking great right now! As for me, what's going on with my rollercoaster temps???

  • @Dwmmwd can you post the link to your chart so I can see?

I had my appt with my OB this afternoon and he's worried about my long cycles. He said that even if I am ovulating it's very late my eggs are unlikely to be good because they're aged. He also said that if I'm only ovulating 6 or 7 times a year that it could take awhile to get pregnant. So, he prescribed chlomid for next cycle to help me ovulate earlier. I'm trying to feel OK about it and see how it goes. If I don't get KU within the 6 cycles, I think we'll stop trying. I don't want too much of an age difference between new baby and DD. Ugh getting older is not fun!
