The real moment of truth will be tomorrow when I go to the doctor, but according to my home scale I'm about 193, up 5 lbs from pre-pregnancy. If I can maintain this rate of weight gain, I'll be able to stay in the 12-15 lbs recommended for my BMI. And considering I'd gained 20 lbs by this point with my son, (57 in all) I'd say I'm doing OK.
I don't know if it helps, but according to my pregnancy guide anywhere between an 8 and 18 lb gain is healthy for someone of normal weight pre-pregnancy. By those standards you're right on track!
I will be 16 weeks on Sunday, so close enough. At my appt yesterday I have put on about 6lbs. so far. I'm pretty happy with that though. I had trouble putting on weight wih my last pregnancy (not related to morning sickness) and only put on 22lbs total and 9lbs of that was baby. My MW kept telling me to eat more and increase my protein, but I still just couldn't keep much weight on. We will see what happens with this pregnancy, if I have the same problem or not. This time last pregnancy I hadn't put on a pound yet, so this is good so far.
@jts2015 were in the same boat! I'm 5'0", and was right around 98-100 lbs prepregnant, and as of yesterday I'm 110! First time ever that high (but I'm the height of a 5th grader so cut me some slack
I'm not sure if this helps, but I share this all the time because I just wish is was something talked about more! I didn't know about it, and as much as I hear about the weight gain, I wish I knew about what it all was before! But so much of the weight is not fat. I'm sure you know that, but this breakdown of an "average" weight gain shows where the weight is distributed, and some other ladies might gain from it, no pun intended! These numbers can be so different for everyone though!! Anyway, I am over 16 weeks and I have gained around 5 pounds. I'm a ftm and I was at the very edge of my BMI before considered being "overweight" pre-pregnancy. Any who, I'm sure it will even out as you go. :-)
Im still down weight from before I got pregnant. As it sits right now, im 7 lbs down from prepregnancy. I was super nauseated the whole first trimester, and I think it made my stomach shrink. Its a good thing I was a bit heavier to start with anyway, my dr isn't worried. My body shape has definitely changed, thinner everywhere but my belly is rounding out nicely.
I always cringe when I hear women comparing weight gain/loss, especially during pregnancy. I know many women who really struggle throughout pregnancy with the changes, and this is a major trigger for them (which doesn't mean that no one can talk about it, but just a point of conversation). I think the tough part about this conversation is that everyone started at way different weights, overweight, underweight, average, and some of our bodies will store more easily than others, especially early. I tend to have a difficult time with the changes, too, because I'm used to being fairly low body fat and really active. I gained a perfect amount of weight with DD, which didn't seem like it would be the case in the first trimester.
With that said, I gained more with DD in the 1st trimester than I anticipated but then leveled out throughout the other two. This time around, I've been more active and didn't have as many challenging symptoms, so I didn't eat to suppress nausea as I did with DD. I think my body is pretty efficient, and I know what I'm fueling it with, so I also try not to worry too much about the scale as long as the doctor doesn't worry about it.
I had my 16 week apt on Tuesday. At that point î has gained a total of 10lbs. I'm due that if your doctor didn't express any worry on your weight gain, you'll be just fine!
I will be 16 weeks tomorrow. This is my second pregnancy. So far I have gained 6 lbs. I gained a total of 39lbs in my first pregnancy t and want to keep it between 25-35lbs if I can help it this time. However, my body just kind of did what it was supposed to and I had a healthy baby. It's been hard to keep those last 10lbs off since my daughter was born but my metabolism has changed; I'm 36 now. Things slow down!
I lost 6 lbs in the first trimester went in yesterday and they said I was down another pound. They told me it will catch up to me and not to. R too concerned. I'm definitely eating!!

Losing weight is common especially if you suffered from morning sickness or your active at the start !
I'm 16 weeks and haven't gained anything. I lost about 10lbs from morning sickenss. I am already considered overweight because of my BMI but I walk every day and eat really healthy so I guess as long as the babies getting enough food I'm ok.
I've gained 1lb so far and I am 16 weeks today. Everyone is different. As long as your doctor doesn't have any concerns then its all good I have a slight bump right now (2nd pregnancy) and when I was pregnant with my first I wasn't showing at all at 16 weeks.
I just came back from the doctor and she said I've lost weight. I'm losing a pound, it seems, every month. So far, I've gained 7 lbs. But she told me not to worry because I'll gain weight during the last trimester.
I turned 16 weeks yesterday and I'm in the 3-5 lb range (depends on the day & time of day I weigh myself). I think it was about the same with DS and I ended up gaining 32 lbs overall, with a good 20 coming off by 2 weeks PP. Just keep your "indulgences" (guilty! Lol) in check and stay active and you should be just fine!
After my doctor's appointment today, it's official I'm up 5 lbs. But 5 lbs in almost 17 weeks isn't so bad, considering I know 2 of that is boobs and 2 is probably constipation and the rest is Little Debbie cake rolls I won't be eating anymore.
My weight had fluctuated so much!! I am always between 127 and 132 (depends on time of month and whatnot) but since pregnancy I stuck at 132....today at my doc I was 135 and a month ago I was 136. So I am going to say I've gained 5...I'm 16w on Sunday.
I'm 14 weeks and I have gained 7 lbs. Usually at the doctor's its afternoon you've ate 2 meals plus snacks, had a bunch of water to drink and are wearing clothes. I prefer to weigh myself in the morning before I eat/drink/dress for my true weight. But we all gain differently so just focus on being healthy rather than the #.
I stepped on the scale this morning, and had gained 2 lbs back! Woo! I was down a total of 13 lbs from when I found out I was pregnant. Didn't really have it to lose, but Dr. didn't seem as concerned as I was.
Can I just say; its good to see that I'm not the only one who lost weight. I was seriously worried that I was the only one in the world who was losing.
16 weeks tomorrow. 5'5 normally 120lbs and exercise at least 3 days per week. Lost 5lbs from MS during 1st tri. Now up to 121lbs so that is a gain of 1lb. Bump is there but I just look out of shape...not pregnant looking yet :-(
Re: moms that are 16 weeks along..how much weight have you gained so far?
By those standards you're right on track!
Unfortunately I gained haha
