Sedans with room for two rear-facing carseats?

Hey all, can anyone recommend a sedan that will comfortably fit two rear-facing car seats? We'll have two under two and will need leg room in the front as well. Trying to avoid an SUV/minivan if possible. Thanks!

  • Honda Accord, we have a 2008 and they are very roomy. I'm tall but I never had to adjust my seat to accommodate the pumpkin seat behind me.

  • We have a '13 VW Passat TDI. Lots of room plus awesome mpg. Bluetooth for hands free calling and connect to music on my phone.
  • I googled this, compare rear leg room. I think the Honda Accord, the Hyundai Sonata and one other were really good.
  • I just bought a 2005 Chevy Impala, and it is sooooon spacious inside. My husband and I are both tall, and we could fit with our little nephew's rear-facing seat comfortably.
Baby number 1 on the way!

  • We actually fit three rear facing large car seats in our Nissan Leaf. We used two diono RX convertible (infant - forever), and one infant Chicco when I was carpooling my friends' kids and my daughter.

  • Oh, and hubby is 6ft and has long legs, and he was always fine. We still had room in the trunk for the stroller.

  • We have a 2006 Ford Fusion. We had our daughter's and our nephew's rear facing car seat in there with no problem. It's also great on gas and a nice ride. But with this being #3 for us we're going to have to trade in our beloved sedan for something that'll fit a booster, front facing car seat and new baby..... I wish I could find an alternative to a minivan or the gas guzzling suburban but I think I'm outta luck *cringe*.
  • @dani7237 My sister just sent me a carseat recommendation that may also help you avoid a minivan or gas guzzler- a Diono Radian RXT. It fits three across in most mid-sized vehicles. It's a little more spendy than just an average carseat, but it converts from rear facing, to forward facing, to a booster. So potentially you can use this single seat until baby is 120lbs!

  • @lanaloulittle Thank you so much for posting that. I will definitely consider that seat, avoiding the "minivan mafia" would be a dream. Thanks again.

How do you like the Nissan Leaf? I'm considering switching to electric once we buy a house (we're renting now).

I think it depends on the seat. I have maxi cosi Pria 70s in both vehicles. They are super rear facing friendly for smaller cars.
  • So I know this is an older post, however  I Currently drive a 2012 chevy cruze 1LT and I'm not sure if i'll have enough space for all my army gear, and baby gear plus a rear facing seat.. should I be thinking about moving up to an Equinox?
