Looking for some advice,
I am in my 3rd trimester (31wks)first pregnancy and recently had to move away from the OB I had been seeing for most of my pregnancy ( which was heart breaking cuz i loved her) i was diagnosed with gestational diabetes right before i moved and have been keeping track of my blood sugar and have done my best at switching all my medical needs to local practices. I had my appt at my new OB last week and the RN who i dealt with didn't seem nearly as concerned about my GD as my last doc , even went as far as saying it probably wasn't something i should see an endocrinologist for , like i had been advised and had done before my move. I am EXTREMELY concerned about how this effects my baby and my health. As well as how its going to effect the type of birth i have. My old OB had me scheduled for ultrasounds every 4 weeks to monitor the babies growth etc , and this new practice doesn't seem to think thats needed. At 31wks I have very little time left and want to see how my baby is progressing. Can i demand to be scheduled for ultrasounds? I really do not want any surprises just because one RN doesn't seem to think its that important...
Thoughts?
Re: advice on gestational diabetes and moving away from my OB
What does your new OB say? It doesn't matter what the RN says, she is just guessing.
