2 yr old won't sleep at NIGHT

DD lately will not sleep at bedtime. She goes down for naps no problem and once she does fall asleep, she sleeps all night. We've tried everything... Scheduling her nap earlier, no naps at all, etc. nothing seems to be working! DD will just lay there, toss n turn, get out of bed, or try to talk. Any ideas?

melatonin 0.5mg for a few nights! I found it in a night time Zarbee's. It has honey in it and Zinc (formulated for colds, coughs, etc, but no actual medication in it).

Whoa. OP I probably wouldn't suggest medicating your kid without asking a doctor first. Sure, you're the parent and you can decide what to do but I wouldn't be comfortable with this.

How long has this been going on? My 3 year old has gone through phases where he has trouble sleeping or simply doesn't want to sleep. Stay consistent and keep telling her to go back to bed. Don't talk to her or engage in the night. Remind her that night time is for sleeping.

My girls have been the same for the past month. I think the lighter nights confuse them. I have tried keeping them awake all day but uve come to the agreement that this makes them go past their sleep. I have even tried going out a dander half an hour before bedtime which worked with my two year old but my three year old wasnt fooled haha. I was able to get her to sleep by offering her my teddy from my room. The only other thing I have tried was keeping them up until late which meant no cool down period for me before bed do you offer warm milk before bed? I think I might try it tomorrow. Also I think dark curtains are a must x

I have a medical background and am comfortable with this. Your body naturally produces melatonin and I consider it a supplement, not a medication.
