“When I'm pregnant I will....."

Ok, as I sit at 32 weeks, unable to move once the clock strikes 8pm, I have vague recollections of what I thought pregnancy would look like for me.....here is a sample....

1) I will eat boiled chicken over rice and vegetables each night for dinner (this is serious, I dont even know what I was thinking, or why I thought this was a reasonable plan?!)

2) I will continue running as long as I can.....

3) I will not complain

Needless to say, number one didn't make it past week one....
The only place I run is to the bathroom, and number three is just ridiculous.

How did you think your pregnancy would look?! :)

  • I said I will not have coffee. lol I have my sip here and there
  • Loading the player...
  • At least that makes sense! I stopped taking sugar in my (hot) tea....I mean, kept drinking the caffeine filled tea, but stopped the sugar?!?!? Was back on it after a week ;)
  • I will work out almost daily and keep up with my gym routine. Complications and constant cramping put a damper in that plan week 9!
  • I will not have any caffeine. I've had a coke here or there. Coffee makes me gag still.

  • I will not gain as much weight as my first pregnancy, so far so good, but I do have about 9 weeks to go.

I will exercise more this time around. Yeah...that has not happened. Unless you count chasing around a two year old as exercise.
  • I will prance around in cute outfits, belly out, and eat everything in the world...

Haha. Yeah right. Hyperemesis Gravidarum changed that pretty quickly!
  • Mine is pretty much the same as everyone else's. I will eat healthy and keep up with working out. Neither of these happened the way I thought.

If your 2 year old is anything like the 2 year olds who come to the library where I intern, that definitely counts! :)

Me too! I wanted to do yoga (even bought a DVD with separate workouts for each trimester) but I went from threatened miscarriage to constant nausea to anemia to modified bed rest. Haven't exercised since 4 weeks!
  • Lol yoga!!! I have cleaned up my eating a SMIDGE but its mainly by what i am craving. However i also said i would get my sons room in check and ready to share.... Here at 32 weeks we havr his loft bed up but uhm.... It looks like a tornado threw up in there
  • I always thought I would eat really healthy and organic. Yet the first 10 weeks I knew of my pregnancy I could barely eat so when I did it was fast food...didn't get back to cooking until like 26 weeks. Still not eating a stitch of organic HA.
TTC: 1/2014 BFP: 9/24 EDD: 6/8/2015 Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
  • The yoga thing is still on my list, but I can tell its not going to happen... nope!!! Too tired!
  • i never had an "when im pregnant i will.." mine is more of an "i thought by this point i.."
i thought i would have been skinnier, gotten down to a lower weight, had more money saved up, lived in a house that we were either renting or buying, and maybe have a young dog running around. not living in an apartment at my normal weight with what feels like no money. :$
  • Lol....it's funny how similar we all are! The distant sound of alarm bells were sounding in the shower this morning though, as I realised that my idealistic list of better eating and excersize etc is pretty much the same for AFTER the baby is born! Ah well, whatever gets you through!!! ;)

This is kind of where I am. I had this fantasy of who I would be as I started my family. Thin well compensated for my high powered career living in a prestigious place. Nope, house wife of middling to large size with a half empty place I can't fill.

  • I will have nothing but healthy food. That idea went out the door the first week. :-<

I had lots of bad pregnancy role models (the whole "eating for two", gaining excessive weight thing), so I am actually pleased that pregnancy has seen me eating waaay healthier and being way more active than I anticipated...

...but that has not included one single prenatal yoga class (thought that would be at least twice weekly!) or one single home exercise session (my mama is a physical therapist and created a workout program for me in the first trimester)... oops. Oh well.

  • I thought we'd be in a new home and I'd be setting up a nursery by this point. Still on the market and we have 8 weeks left...

That I would enjoy this, my last pregnancy, and not complain the whole time. Yeah, did not happen.
  • -I would eat healthy
    -Work out all the time
-Have a full time job in my career.

Turns out my biggest craving is chips so I eat those like it's my job, I am too exhausted to even do the laundry let alone work out, and I am year and a half out of college and still no full time job... Oh well, that's life!

THIS!! Although we have bought a new house and sold our house. We don't move in until July and then we are renovating for a month bc I'm crazy.

Also the healthy eating and working out kick- my movement these days consist of rolling off the couch or rolling out of bed while huffing and puffing. Moooooooo
