When to switch from my OBGYN to an RE?

Good morning, my husband and I have been TTC for 1 yr 8 months. After all tests came back normal, we found ourselves in the unexplained infertility group. I've been seeing my OBGYN for all tests and treatments. I had my first IUI and just got a BFN 14dpIUI. Insurance will only cover 3 tries. I love my OBGYN and trust her, but is it time to see an RE?

It certainly wouldn't hurt to go for a consult to gather their opinion on your situation. Good luck.

I am 100% oop and did all of my IUIs through my OB office. I felt comfortable with their knowledge and expertise, and it saved us a lot of money instead of going through an RE. Once we were done with the IUIs and moving onto IVF we had a consult with an RE.
If your insurance covers it regardless, I would recommend seeing an RE, and at least get their ideas.
    Good luck!

I agree with pp you should see an RE before continuing with your next IUI. A second opinion never hurts.

    good luck

Thanks ladies. We're doing one more try before switching to the RE. We have already been referred if this IUI doesn't work out. Fingers crossed!
