So I am a week into my injections and at first they were easy as pie (for the most part). Now they seem to be getting worse and my sides are sore the next day. Currently I am sore on both of my sides to touch, when I bend or wearing clothes with waist bands in that area. Is this normal?? I have been alternating areas like a tic-tac-toe board along my love handle/stomach area and don't have any bruising, just soreness. This is going to be a long 6 months!
Have you tried using other sites from the diagram above? Maybe try the backs of your arms or your belly to switch it up?
Trying alternative areas may help. For me, going down past my love handles a bit to the fatty part of my butt helped. My sides get sore as well. Good luck, hopefully it will get easier and easier for you!
@beccabootiful I have heard of OB's inducing labor but I think it depends on each individual patient-how severe the clotting disorder, what your antiquagulation dose is, etc. This is something to discus with your OB but I would be certain that yours will have a plan for you!
To answer your question: In my case, my OB does not induce, his protocol is to switch to twice daily Heparin injections around 37 weeks as it has only half the lifespan and can be reversed incase of an emergency. After that I just make sure I know exactly when I administered each injection(I start writing the times down at that point). During my last labor, I had to wait about four hours for the Heparin to clear my system before I got the epideral. It was not too bad.

@beccabootiful My doctor will induce me at 38 weeks. She is working with my hematologist who will admit me the day before and take me off of the Lovenox and once we hit the 24 hour mark I'll be induced!
My only hope is that this little one doesn't want to come earlier than that. Personally, I'm not fond of the idea of no epidural

Haven't been in here in forever but I have a question for other lovenox mamas. I have noticed the last few days that when I do the shot the baby kicks right in that spot right when I'm doing it. Now, I don't really think I'm poking him as I'm pinching fat and I have quite a bit to pinch, even with my belly way tighter than usual because of the bump, but it's still freaking me out! Has anyone else experienced this?
I've been way too scared to inject into my belly because it's feeling so tight now so I've been injecting into my upper thigh or 'love handles' (nice fatty areas) but I do notice Bub sometimes gets a bit active or will move when I do the injection - I think she's reacting to me anticipating the needle or tensing my muscles etc..
