Trying to Get Pregnant

positive opk, firm cervix?

So today is day 45 of my cycle, and out of a whim I took a opk since I was noticing some eggwhite.  It turned positive! my question is, if your cervix is high, and open, but firm; does that still mean ovulation could be taking place? or does it only soften the day of ovulation (tomorrow). Also, is it normal for your cervix to be firm on one side and softer on the other? This is my first cycle checking my cervix, and I have found it difficult to judge...  I'll be watching my temps closely to see if I actually Ovulate. Here is my chart in case it is helpful.

  • You don't have enough temps to show ovulation. Cervical position and OPKs are secondary sources, and you can have a surge of the hormone LH (picked up by OPKs) multiple times throughout your cycles without ovulating.

Just keep having sex every 2-3 days to cover your bases.
  • You'll just have to wait and see what your temps do. Checking your cervix is tricky and takes a couple months to get the hang of. Have you seen a website called my beautiful cervix. It has pictures of a cervix through the whole cycle.

  • @TheBorg7of9 oh thank you so much for that website! I have the book TCOYF, but I think is must be an older edition since it doesn't have any pictures.
