So I'm 30 weeks pregnant and they told me my baby's a babygirl when I was 20 weeks pregnant, her Bpm today at my appt was 133 bpm. Is it true that lower bpm is for a boy and a higher is a girl? Cause this is the lowest it's been, but totally normal. Just has me wondering if ultrasound told gender wrong lol.
Re: Bpm & gender
This is not a reliable way to determine the sex on the baby. In addition to the fact that it generally slows as they get bigger/older, the baby's heart rate acts similarly to your own - meaning that when they are active it will be higher than when they are sleeping. So the number can completely depend on what they're doing when the doppler is being used.
For reference, my baby girl had a heart rate of 175 at my 8w ultrasound, 165 at 12w ultrasound, 145 at 18w ultrasound, and then on the doppler 130 at 22w, 150 at 26w, and 140 at 30w. None of this is relevant to her sex. It just means that i have a healthy baby growing inside of me.
