My politics lean a little to the left, but are pretty bland and moderate. However, after some deep introspection, I think I am a crazy cat lady... And also possibly a mean mom.
I made ONE comment about her having a tough decision to make regarding her health, and she was like "I'm sorry you feel like I'm just dragging on heartstrings"...
That thread was SO bizarre. She was obviously emotional and just wanted hugs instead of advice. She contradicted every piece of advice she got, then thanked people for the advice but invalidated it...
She assumed the role of spouse/victim/ doctor/veterinarian/expert as soon as everyone started giving advice that was REALLY helpful to her constantly changing situation. Bizarre.
Hey. What the hell. I called her names, but then I apologized. I'm pretty sure no one else actually called her any names. So she's over there bashing me even after I said I over reacted, was sorry about it, and still tried to help? :-O
Isn't aliciac2008 one of us? I'm thinking she may be right. We shouldn't start a board war. I want to, tho. Didya see one of her folken told her that while it got a little cray, we basically had good advice?
Mmmmm... :-w *wants to gif or meme blast them... Refraining.... Its hard*
@aliciac2008 your post was the most diplomatic response and you probably saved us all from saying anything we might have regretted. I saw what you said and genuinely thought "aw that was perfect" :-) I thank you for that!
Oh man Sept is so supportive. I talked it over with my cat (silvy left fork) and we decided not to comment because banning will start happening after a bmb war. We're gonna rest our bumps and snack on popcorn
@mellymar let her get her boo boos mended on the Sept15 board.
You gave her so much advice, and you apologized for a post that really wasn't all too bad to begin with because you sympathized with her cat issues.
Sad that all she got out of that thread were insults bc that info could have been really helpful- if she didn't have an answer or an excuse for everything.
Yes, I'm a June lady. I read a lot here, but don't post too much. However, I love reading drama, so don't let me stop you.
You're probably right over there tho. The wind is beginning to blow against the OP over there, too. Some people are being supportive to her but there are others that are telling her she is over reacting to us. One of us going in there gifs blazing wouldn't help us. I am considering letting them know we are watching tho. Just a hi, howareya, yes, we're reading this. Have a nice day.
Still mad she's talking trash after I apologized tho

Exactly. Its done. I'll wash my face with my paws and take a nap. Even Samurai left me, and he's a samurai... He's trained to fight. He said its not worth his time. Thanks @aliciac2008 for your most very diplomatic response. Well said
Cat issues aside, if you tell a group of women your husband is extremely controlling and you have gone to the extent of threatening to not put his last name on the birth certificate......how can you be shocked that you receive suggestions for marriage counseling? Seems reasonable to me.....

This....all of this. Preach girl. He threw away her meds. CUCKOOOOOO

Yeah! I mean, good grief, he won't 'let' her drink tea? Or have chocolate? Smh...
@MrsWiggleWaggle - I'm still looking for gifs, actually. I won't put them over there, but looking for them and imagining the war and what we would say and how we would win and all that stuff fantasy arguing you do in your head when you want to tell someone off but don't? I'm doing all that. With savage glee. So yes, still looking for appropriate gifs for battle
Seattlite here I'm from nevada though and am not so great about participating in primaries, I did participate in Nevada though, to participate you have to be a registered voter of that party. Of course come general election you can vote for whomever. I think this system tends to create the more polarized candidate and then leads to a race to the middle to gain the moderates and independents. So you have to be extreme to hit those primary voters but to win you have to move your political position.in Washington I've notice we vote by mail, which really isn't fun! No sticker either. I try to participate in all elections but have certainly missed a few of the smaller special ones. I have a degree in political science so my vote has changed across party lines to pick a candidate that fit my political views.
Also I own a Roomba but have no cat hubby is allergic. I freaking love my Roomba got it at an estate sale for 100 bucks pretty much brand new. There is nothing better than coming home to cleaner carpet when you did nothing now if only I could get the laundry to fold itself...
I'm so late to the party but I want in! I don't have a cat so I didn't read the post until I saw this one and 2 things:
1) what a roller coaster THAT was! 2) my favorite part was when @mellymar told her to call the waahhhhmbulance. @mellymar I have always seen you be so positive. Your claws came out and I like it!!
Holy moly!
ETA: the excitement of the drama made me forget how to english.

My friend's dog ate their Roomba. Straight up ate it. Was pissed that he was separated from his doggie sibling and acted out. Poor doggie. Poor Roomba.
@mvargas12 the "waahhhhmbulance"! Oh my good lordy I just cracked up so hard. I try to be nice but she pissed me off by making it sound like it was all about the behavior, then being like 'I'm dying over here from allergies' and wasting my time (and other posters time) by making suggestions for the behavior when what she really wanted was someone to tell her what she wanted to hear. That shiz made me so mad when I worked at vets because its SO selfish. But then, if she really is *dying* that's no good, cause a dead lady can't love her cats. And I don't want dead ladies. Course not. So I apologized, but then she went all off rails and pissed me off again so I just left
Ok I know this is supposed to be a politics poll now it's a combination of things Just read through both threads. My head started spinning and I just skimmed towards the end. I don't know if it's pregnancy brain but I started feeling like I was getting ADHD.
Maybe I'm biased but the June moms gave reasonable responses and advice despite the rather bizarre reactions from the OP. I must say though, I loved @devyns2nd mushroom allergy comparison.
Honestly, you gals make me miss having a cat. I wish my apt would allow it.
My dog is not a fan of the Roomba especially after he was sleeping and it tried to eat his tail, hilarious but the dog was pretty upset. Lol. I just went through that crazy cat thing, I've never owned a cat, but my dog is my fur kid. Sounds like those cats have some major behavioral issues. Wasn't there a show called my cat from hell?
Yes I also loved @devyns2nd mushroom comparison. I knew exactly where you were going with that, gal. I just didn't want to say so in there cause I had peace'd out of that place, and wasn't saying no mo'
That was Washington state. We were voting absentee for forever, but it was like that when we were living there, too. We just changed to Wisconsin but haven't voted here yet so don't know how it works here. But yes, if you identified yourself as blue, then you could only vote among blue candidates. I was like - I'm blue (not to spill my color and leave an opportunity for debate, just saying), but what if there is a blue candidate who is an idiot and the red one is better? I can't choose them? I'm pretty sure I couldn't even vote for an 'independent' prez if I was down as a democrat as I was registered to vote. It was a wonky thing
I thought that only applied to primaries... I frequently vote across political lines depending on each person's stance (I live in New York)
It was that way for the big ones, at least in that state it was. But like I said, I haven't done it for 4 years (now I can't remember if I even got to vote in the most recent prez election? I feel like there was an issue with my absentee as we had just transferred from NoLa) or more? I know we have some Seattle mamas, they could help answer this better. I may be mis-remembering.
Yeah, sorry @mellymar, that's definitely not true! I've been in WA since 2008. I often pick various parties, and in fact, for local offices candidates pick which party they "prefer," so the ballot reads "Joe Schmoe - prefers democratic party). They do have an interesting primary system here in Seattle (not sure if it's state wide) - it's like a forced run-off thing. I don't know how it works, I just read the directions each time and pick my favorites! Honestly I don't think they have a straight-party ticket option, even. They did last time I voted in WI, though! It was just if you wanted to vote that way, though, you didn't have to.
I don't actually think what you described would be legal, to tell the truth! One race has nothing to do with the others (say prez vs. a senate seat). Some states you're only allowed to vote in the Repub (or Dem) pres. primary if you are a registered Republican (or Democrat) though, that's definitely a thing.
Just didn't want the board thinking we're all crazy up in WA state !
Also, about the whole cat thing - her first post was totally "I hate that there are cats living in my house. Can I use pregnancy and/or new mom fear to justify getting rid of them? If so, what are the best tactics to make it look like it's not my choice?" Then she didn't like the responses and changed her tune. Whateva! MH is allergic and just sucked it up until his body gave up fighting it . I know there are different degrees, but . . . eh, the whole story was suspicious.
@Frogger5 thanks for clarifying! I remember it being really, really wonky, but it HAS been a long time. Like I said, I don't think I was able to vote in the last presidential election due to a problem with my absentee after moving from LA state to NY state, and I didn't do the midterms cause I wasn't living in state and couldn't really grasp how my vote would affect life there. So it had been a while. I lived there from 2003-2007 and I remember it changed to something like what I remember while I was living there, and people were real mad about it, and once I started voting there I was like what the hell is going here? It probably got changed again afterwards, cause for real a lot of people were not down with it. Anyway, glad that if they did have it like I remember (10 years of moving and partying and life later) that its not like that anymore. Now since we bought a house in Wisconsin we changed to vote here.

I was kind of late to the party on that anyway - on mobile I often post at the point I think is the end of the thread only to realize later that there are two more pages! Anyway, yes, I certainly can't say what craziness was going on here pre-2008, but rest assured it's a little less kooky these days!
The other two pages are all us talking about the cat lady, lol. Truly not related to the poll at all
I just hadn't realized that several hours had passed . . . I read the cat thread earlier in the day but didn't have anything else to add, you ladies really covered it! I am off to check the Sept. board, though. I love that stuff.
Admins closed the "mean moms" thread on S15. That chick is cray, and not very smart, bc she divulges way too much on here. Way early on when I lurked that board more, I discovered she lives super close to me and took note so that I can actively run away if I ever see her at mommy/kid events.
Finally read through the cat thread in its entirety this morning... and I have to admit, aside from all the craziness, I thought the descriptions of the stuff her cats are doing were hilarious! Probably hard to live with, but I was howling at the description of the cat pouncing on her husband when he comes out of the shower and the one of the cat clawing her while she was Skyping her boss!
Girl should keep those cats around and write a book about the hell they're putting her through: "Snuggles and Sniffles: My Life with the Naughty Cats"
I want to post this on the cat thread and the sept thread
Ok...I've tried to stay out of this CRAZY cat thread, but this picture just made me laugh out loud, fart (cause im gassy and prego), wake up my husband, and piss him off. Soooo worth it though! thanks @Mommaswizz !
ETA: you ladied are outta control! I just got asked to leave the bedroom if im going to be laughing in the middle of the night. Thanks Rambo Kitty and @mellymar

Lmao yes!!! Those 2 stories literally had me laughing nonstop. ) You're right, she definitely has potential in writing. With her descriptions I was getting crazy visuals )

I say this with absolutely no sarcasm: she could have a bestseller on her hands. She'll need to learn to capitalize proper nouns though, she'll drive her editor crazy!

2. I genuinely clicked this thread thinking there would be a Cat Lady category
This made my morning, catching up on both threads. I am going to have to pull the pregnancy card for being a half hour late to work again. Worth it.
