Crib Sheet Advice...

We've been having a hard time getting my LO to sleep in his crib at night.  He's been co-sleeping with us and my gut tells me it has something to do with his sheets.  I feel like all the sheets we have for his crib are too rough and scratchy...unlike the soft sheets we have for our bed that he has gotten used to and sleeps best on.  Every time we put him in his crib, he turns his head back and forth as if he's testing his cheeks on the sheet and just can't seem to get settled.  As soon as we put him on our bed, he's out like a light. Anyone else experience this? Any advice on the best brands/material/type sheets to buy for his crib?

Re: Crib Sheet Advice...

  • I wonder if he does the head turning because he just isn't used to being in the crib and not the sheets.

  • I agree with PP that it may be that he's noticing he's in his crib, not in the bed with you.  But, fwiw, we got the American Baby Company Jersey Knit Crib Sheets with the My Little Nest Pebbletex Quilted Cotton Waterproof Crib Mattress Pad underneath.  It's a soft combo that isn't bulky and thick, and it has a nice tight fight on our mattress.

  • Thanks for the replies.  I appreciate the info:)
  • My LO loves to rub her head back and forth when she tries to comfort herself. She does this a lot when she is sleepy, and it doesn't matter if she's in her crib or in her carseat. I think your LO is doing that because he knows he is alone in his crib and is trying to comfort himself since he is used to sleeping with you. Be persistent and he will get used to the new sleeping arrangement.
