High-Risk Pregnancy

Pregnacy too close to c-section incision?

I had an ultrasound yesterday and the doctor feels my gestational sac is too close to my c-section incision. (I have had three, the last one three years ago)  He couldn't tell from the imaging if I had implanted in the scar tissue or if the pregnancy was just really low.  I had an initial blood draw on the 30th of March.  Had a second blood draw yesterday in which the numbers show good doubling times. Went from 54.6 to 16,183 in two weeks. I have another blood draw on Wednesday to see if the numbers double like they should.  If they double like they should then I have an appointment with a perinatologist on Monday.  If the pregnancy is implanted in my scar, then my numbers shouldn't rise at a normal rate.  It sounds like I am at risk of my uterus rupturing if things progress too far.

I am really scared!  Has anyone had anything like this happen?  My doctor said he has only seen 2 cases of this in his 16 years in practice.  Just hoping to have someone give me a little support.

  • I haven't had anything happen to me like this but I'm wishing you well. I hope you get good news soon. How far along are you?

  • I've not had anything like this but I know what it's like to not get the best news and be caught in limbo waiting for more information.

Hang in there and stay strong. Don't let the fear and worry get in the way of enjoying just how special a time this is. I made that mistake and spent the first 20 weeks in complete denial and fear.

You can do it! Stay positive and let yourself have a cry if you need to. Keep us posted!!! Here's thinking of you and your little one and wishing you both nothing but the best outcomes!!
