I'm a nuclear medicine technologist doing PET/CT scans... Had to tell coworkers and boss as soon as I found out since I have to be very closely monitored with an the radiation I'm exposed to... Very excited though!!
I'm an Executive Director at a sports Non-profit! It's pretty flexible hours but our largest fundraiser is in a month and morning sickness has already kicked in :-S
@Jenra2012 We have restrooms in our classroom so I quickly put on a short song or something from GoNoodle when I feel bad and go to the restroom. I give someone the job of monitor also.
If it makes you feel better I am a trauma surgical ICU Rn at a level one Trauma center in a major city. I'm slightly terrified but so many of my coworkers have done it and are awesome examples to me! I had to spill the beans to one person last week at only six weeks because there was a patient on airborne and herpes/shingles rule out! I also ended up doing chest compressions on someone as well the same week! I'm not pushing myself but I'm letting myself do as much as my body tells me I can!
I'm a college professor. I sneak snacks between classes, and am lucky that I get a fair amount of time in my office. Plus, college students don't need supervision should I need to step out for a moment. Don't know what I'd do if they were little kids!
I'm a NICU nurse, but also float to mother/baby. Not too much lifting, but long hours on my feet. I haven't told anyone at work yet, but it is the hardest thing ever to keep it a secret when I'm surrounded by pregnant women and new moms!
I am a nurse as well! My Co workers are great about helping other really pregnant nurses lift patients (or not lift patients). My biggest concerns are medication administration and making sure to abide by all contact precations now.
I'm a psychologist. I'm supposed to start a new job in August but am now considering whether I should postpone and take some time off to be with DD and our new LO
I'm an admin asst for our schools teacher center. We handle all the textbooks and supplies that go out to the school, so I had to make my boss aware early that I was expecting again. A lot of our boxes are 50 plus lbs and i am not comfortable lifting that amount of weight this early, but I don't have to worry about that because my boss has put me on her own restrictions lol best boss ever
I am a personal trainer and gym manager... Talk about heavy lifting, however, we had a trainers meeting so my boss (also my best friends husband) told them all to help out and make sure I am not moving heavy things! So yay! however the gym smells KILLER!!!
Not a nurse but I can pretty much relate. I'm a pharmacist and also work 12 hour shifts. Trying to keep my distance from all the coughing and sneezing all over the counter. Standing in one spot didn't use to bother me but I find myself having to take more breaks just to sit for 5 minutes.
I'm a graduate student that does research in a hospital. I don't come in contact with patients really (other than walking to my lab), but there are a lot of chemical in our lab that are harmful to pregnant women. I haven't told my boss yet (I wanted to wait until we told our families first), and I've avoided actually going into the lab pretty well, but it's getting pretty hard. Luckily my desk is in a completely different room and I was able to do work on my laptop, but I'm kind of out of things to do. Debating if I should tell my boss sooner rather than later now.
I'm a marketing manager for a skincare company and freelance writer as well. Fortunately, my job requires no heavy lifting - just long hours in front of a computer, lol. I've been sipping nonstop on peppermint tea with ginger ever since my morning sickness kicked up a few weeks ago. Been trying a few different things (natural calm, ginger, peppermint tea, saltine crackers) to help with the nausea but so far, it's been coming and going in waves without my control. Thank goodness I can hide out at the office in my corner!
I'm a pediatric occupational therapist. Not a lot of heavy lifting, but tons of crawling around and high energy activities. I went down to part time after having my DD (18 months) and the more flexible hours are a lifesaver right now when I'm not feeling my best.
I am a photographer {weddings, birth's, and military homecomings mostly, but do families and newborns as well}. I'm trying to keep it under wraps, but when the day of an engagement session rolls around and I can't even keep down water, it's kinda hard....
I'm a part-time nanny to a family of 4 boys. I worked for them when I was pregnant with my first, then came back when she was 8 months old. It's tough because their youngest is a year older than my DD so I have 2 under 2, but I guess it's just preparing me for adding this little one to our family! I'm also a photographer (families, weddings, seniors) when I can fit it in my schedule since I am also going to school online right now.
I work for a group home company, I manage two homes (9 young adults total). Definitely not a family friendly job! My hours are nuts (a lot of 12 hour days), it will be a huge adjustment come December. Just hoping it all goes smoothly!
I'm an Online Marketing Manager for a Non-Profit agency. I update our website, write blog posts, and manage our social media profiles. I'm also a licensed real estate agent, but I put my license in Escrow for right now.
I am a pharmacist. I am nervous about the long working hours standing on my feet! This is my first pregnancy
This is my second and I'm a pharmacist too. Right around month 8 I brought a seat to work. They cannot say anything to you. Ultimately you need to do what is right for you and baby.
I am a Physical Therapist Assistant, and work in a Nursing Home. I have to lift on residents all day. I have just been trying to be extra careful and getting a second hand when I need it! But it does worry me as well!
Business owner of a Marketing/Advertising Firm; specializing in Web Design, SEO, Social Media and Fundraising. Also an Organic Uban Farmer as a hobby. Used to be a waitress about 3 years ago, so glad I'm not anymore! The BOH dishwashing station is the worst smell, however, at 6 weeks 1 day I still have yet to get nausious.
