Tomorrow is my last day of maternity leave......wow, this has come so fast!  So right now I'll be working 20 hours evening shift 3:30p till midnight.  I work every other weekend and my hubby has every other friday off.  So I'll be working all his off fridays and with the weekends, we only have one day a week we need a sitter for 3 hours (time between when I leave and hubby gets home 2:30p-5:30p).  We hired my best friends girlfriend and they just bought a house in our neighborhood!  My mom-in-law will be sitting when I start class on Tuesdays this spring/summer from 9am-5pm.

I'm most worried about pumping while away and that hubby is able to get her to take bottle/not waste any breastmilk.  I worked hard on my stash, I have to scald my milk because of high lipase.  I'm sure we will figure it out.

QOTW:  We love making chicken adobo.  Sooo good.

Since moving up to an older class, H is learning so many new things. He's picking up on sign language and talking more. 2.0 is kicking away daily and giving me lightening sensations which makes for an interesting school day sometimes. Speaking of, school is stressing me out. State testing is next week, new bills are being presented to our state legislature that is not good news and I'm just over it all. I have seven more weeks though, I can make it!

QOTW - lately it's been steaks with twice baked potatoes and salad. DH loves to grill, especially steaks, and they are literally melt in your mouth good. Oh man we may have to have that tomorrow.

  • My goal for this week is no doctors visits or ER visits. The weather has gotten a lot better so it's just so nice to get outside again! We spent the evening at the park tonight.

QOTW: my go to meal lately has been salads. Grill up some chicken, add some random vegis or fruit, goat cheese, maybe some walnuts. Yum!

  • @dp21 how was your first day back? It sounds like you have awesome childcare coverage!

I'm doing well. 10w on Thursday. We just got back from a family wedding in FL. It was a long 5 days, 3 of which J was sick. Fever and vomit sick. Ugh. I need a vacation. I'm super sad because we stayed in a beautiful beach resort and J only cooperated at the beach for about 3 hrs total and wouldn't get in the pool.

Qotw: crock pot chicken tortilla stew from my favorite clean eating blog (gracious pantry). Yum!

  • We had our first ER trip last week.  My little guy was fine when we put him to bed, but had just started a bit of a dull cough about a few hours before bed.  At 1 am he had 103.3 fever and climbing.  We went to this ER by our house that guarantees no wait, so we left home at 2:30 am and were home by 4, which is pretty good.  They diagnosed him with the flu and gave us tamiflu to give him.  He fine now as this was a week ago, but he still has a cough, which I was told could last up to 3 weeks.  I think he got sick from church daycare during the service.  Usually I bring the little guy with us, but this time we wanted to try the daycare.  It happens, and I am just glad he got better quick. I will be trying him again in the daycare this week probably.  :)

QOTW:  Probably stir fry or chicken curry with veggies (The sauce from Trader Joes is super good and easy)
