39 weeks 2days No mucas plug or bloody show

edited April 2015 in April 2015 Moms
im beginning to feel like I'll be pregnant for ever! I keep getting extremely bad heart burn & can't sleep at night. Back pains and some cramping. Feeling a lot of pressure when walking. Still no mucus plug.... Begging to think I can't give birth until after the mucus plug is gone. Anyone else feeling the same?

  • I'm 39 weeks haven't lost my plug and I'm not dilated. But you can lose your plug right before you go into labor

  • Well the good news is you're so far along right now that in a couple more days they'll probably induce you if you don't go into labor on your own.

I lost my mucous plug when I woke up in labor on my due date. I didn't have a bloody show or water break until I had a very strong contraction after being at the hospital for a few hours. It's possible you won't see it then until it's go time!
  • I'm with ya! The heart burn is killer and impossible for me to get comfy at night :((

I'm due in 3 days and still no signs of labor just back pain n some sharp pains.
  • Same here. I'm due on Friday and nothing so much as a contraction. I figured with this being baby #2 she would be early. Good luck!
  • With my 5 births i have never seen mucus plug and have had a bloody show as iv gone into labour on the day
  • Been losing my show for 2 days now. Still not in labour so I don't think it's true what some say about it? Due on Friday tho so im hoping things are on the move at least! Luck to you!
  • I'm due Sat. haven't lost mucus plug/no bloody show. nonbraxton hicks only period like cramps maybe only once a day...this baby is comfy.
  • I'm due in 2 days and so far no bloody show, no water breaking, and not even so much as a cramp. I am right there with you with the heartburn though, mine is also off the charts at night. How I've been dealing with it is I take one Pepcid Ac everyday and then right before I go to bed I chew 4 ultra strength tums. From there, I just sorta make sure I'm propped up with at least two pillows under my head.
  • Pressure while walking and cramps are a good sign. Not everyone can tell when they lose their mucous plug (my sister couldn't tell at all) so don't use that as your only sign. I'm 39 weeks 2 days today and have had lots of cramping... my doctor said if they hurt then they are probably doing something, just not active labor yet. You'll get there! I definitely understand the feeling of being pregnant forever. By the time this little guy is born I will have been pregnant for a whole year minus 2 weeks thanks to a m/c our first try. Just take it easy and try to relax... I heard that if you are anxious or stressed it can delay things.

  • I'm not too worried about the whole mucous plug deal. But I am glad that I'm not alone in not making much progress. I am due Saturday, but have been worried that I haven't dilated at all yet (even if I shouldn't be worried). Drs have been talking many options though because they are concerned with size from the ultrasound. I just keep telling myself that the ultrasound could be over estimating and I am going to do everything I can to push this kiddo out! My mom did it, I can too :) And she did it 5 times with no drugs ever.
  • I'm 39 weeks 2 days. I haven't had a single Braxton Hicks or sign of labour. (Yet.) No cramping, no loss of MP, nothing,

My 40w ultrasound estimated little one at 7lbs 14 oz. She arrived 11 days later (they supposedly gain 0.5lbs per week) at 7lbs even!

My ultrasound at 38w4d estimated 9 lb 10 oz. That is big...and I pray every day he isn't really that large! :)
  • I didn't lose mine until I was in the hospital and dilated to 4cm (I was induced at 39 weeks and 5 days due to high blood pressure).

  • I am 39 wks and 2 days. I have seen mucus globs in the toilet and when wiping the past couple days. Apparently I'm very thinned out and 1 cm but no painful regular contractions. Just a lot of low pressure pains for the past few weeks and tightening of my belly. I'm beginning to think this will last forever but my husband, being his humorous self, said "then we will be rich since I would be the first woman to never give birth." lol Im just ready to hold him in my arms already.
  • I'm past my due date now... Hopefully he will be here soon. Getting impatient, hope he gets here soon
